Cracking little spot for sandwiches and coffee with friendly staff. I've never actually had the time to sit down in there but it looks and feels very relaxing and the food people are eating smells and looks great. If your passing in the car the only issue is getting parked to pop in.

“A Gem of a Place”
Reviewed 20 August 2013

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Durham and well worth a walk up the hill.
The staff are very friendly and the service is great. Both food and beverages are imaginative, good value and tasty.
They have a lovely selection of drinks from a regular tea or coffee to homemade lemonade or lavender hot chocolate.
Food is fresh and locally sourced, sometimes even right from the deli's own garden! Again a great choice of food that will satisfy both meat lovers and vegetarians alike.

An almond stack consisting of home made ameretti biscuit with cream and fruit from the deli garden.

Very average cafe, in need of a more extensive menu. The prices were very high. Sorry but a return visit is not on the cards.

“Great little deli, best coffee in durham”
Reviewed 30 June 2013

Been here a couple of times, the coffee is the best in Durham and the food is very good. The two deli platters for £11 (on their own £6) make a great lunch for two people - great value for money. You get a lot of food of very high quality. More than fills you up. The goats cheese with lavender and honey sounds odd but is absolutely delicious, and the hummus is very tasty. Only slight let down is the olives, which aren't all that great compared to the rest of the food. The service is friendly and fairly efficient although the wait for food can be a tiny bit longer than other cafes. Also the regular sized coffee is quite small, worth getting the large. The place is small, but comfy with a nice atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting.
