We visited this museum today and were very impressed by the staff, quality of exhibits, child friendly atmosphere and high standard of cleanliness through out the building. The entrance fee is very good value and we were welcomed and the children were immediately shown a trail they could do around the museum. Each area was able to cater for adults and children with activities for children eg dressing up boxes. However the staff are the jewel in the crown, pleasant helpful and wonderful to the children who they engaged in conversation.Every aspect of the museum including the catering and shop were great. I will be sure to visit again.

Thank Patsy J

Hidden away on Elvet Hill in the midst of the Colleges is the Gulbenkiam Museum - unbelieveably beautiful Chinese artifacts in this City famous for its Romanesque cathedral

I had a vague recollection of going to this place as a kid. The kind of recollection where you think God that was boring but actually I'd love that now!

I certainly wasn't disappointed, and at £1.50 on the door you'd have your money's worth out of the first floor alone. The fusion of Chinese, Japanese and Korean artefacts was very interesting and showed just how similar their styles have been at certain points in the past.

It'll only take you an hour or so to go around, but we'll worth a visit if you're in Durham.
