We were visiting Durham from Canada. It is hard to find a good restaurant and we weren't sure where to go when we spotted this A- board and went up little crooked stairs to find a bright sunny cafe. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. It looked as though a lot of locals hung out here as the staff were on first name basis with the customers. We enjoyed our food so much that after walking around in the cold and pouring rain we decided to go back for more treats. The owner (Keiran) welcomed us and told us to stay as long as we liked to keep warm before our coach was due to leave. He came over and we had a great chat - he is a most interesting man and possessed genuine kindness and honesty - a real delight. Tell him the two Canadians sent you. Go and enjoy and bask in the special ambience of this little treasure of a restaurant.
