“Outstanding restaurant with great food and the nicest owners”
Reviewed 26 June 2012

We were visiting Durham from Canada. It is hard to find a good restaurant and we weren't sure where to go when we spotted this A- board and went up little crooked stairs to find a bright sunny cafe. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. It looked as though a lot of locals hung out here as the staff were on first name basis with the customers. We enjoyed our food so much that after walking around in the cold and pouring rain we decided to go back for more treats. The owner (Keiran) welcomed us and told us to stay as long as we liked to keep warm before our coach was due to leave. He came over and we had a great chat - he is a most interesting man and possessed genuine kindness and honesty - a real delight. Tell him the two Canadians sent you. Go and enjoy and bask in the special ambience of this little treasure of a restaurant.

“What a find!! We couldn't believe our luck!!”
Reviewed 15 June 2012

We wandered the streets of Durham looking for a place for breakfast when we noticed a random A-board... We dared to ascend the stairs, and to our joy we entered a wonderful little cafe! I had a large cappuccino and a bacon sandwich which came to £5, and if you take a look at my photo, I think you'll agree, it was a bargain! We enjoyed our breakfast so much, that we bought our lunch, and had them put it in takeaway boxes for us.

Such an honest little cafe, run by seemingly honest people. If I ever need breakfast or a quick lunch in Durham again, there is only one place I will go; TREATS!

“A great find!”
Reviewed 10 June 2012

This cafe is a great find in the middle of Durham. The cafe is well situated just off Durham's market place with friendly staff and very substantial portion sizes you certainly feel you are getting value for money. Cakes are definetly worth a try and good lunch menu too.

“Friendly service.”
Reviewed 8 June 2012

Food is ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Although my mother did comment that her soup was very tasty, my jacket potato was very average. Service however was very good, man serving very nice and made an effort, rather nice. I did actually feel a little uneasy eating in this cafe as the floor is not level actually tilts slightly and made me feel a little seasick - oddly.
