Spent a perfectly pleasant couple of hours in here, having a couple of beers from the list of 5 ales available and some dinner. Food was standard pub fare, nothing exceptional but plentiful, promptly served and tasty enough. Ambience was good, not that busy but a mixture of groups enjoying themselves.

been here for food a few times now after discovering it by accident last year. Would definitely reccommend it as it has been excellent every time. However, the menu has changed (for the worse) since my first visit and has almost doubled in price. 'The tikka feast', which was excellent has also been removed from the menu for some reason. Nice cosy pub and still worth a visit.

Whilst visiting the Market Hall I needed to visit the toilet and was told that the public loos were closed (not true). Went to the Market Tavern (was really desperate for the loo) and asked the barman if I might use their facilities and received an immediate yes! Suitably refreshed, I returned to the Market and then returned to the Tavern for refreshments. Thank you Market Tavern and your lovely staff.

Been before and always look to return if we can get a seat and despite it being the Lumiere Festival we managed to get a table even tough it was rammed on a very bust Sunday evening.

Good mix of people couple families with children & groups but they managed easily to cope with everybody bar service was quick & smooth.

Despite having been a very busy day as the barman told me while chatting on when pouring drinks the food was still a full menu it was served quickly and was very tasty and reasonably priced 2 meal & 2 pints for only £24 can't be sniffed at these days, and the fact there was no wait on such a busy night was impressive.

The Market Tavern is a proper traditional pub, long may it stay that way.
