fist time we have been to nose' s point, certainly won't be the last. we walked quite away along the pathways, which are well maintained, with seating along part of the walk. two car parks, one had an ice cream which seemed popular. free parking. the views across the cliff tops and out to sea are stunning. you can walk for miles. enjoy the peace and tranquillity. A lovely walk for all ages.

East Durham Coast is really beautiful, and walkways have been built so that you can choose how far you want to walk up to around 30 miles I think. And of course it joins up with national cycleways (including one of the Coast to Coast C2C rides) and various walks inland including the beautiful Castle Eden Vale.
Some of the beeches are world-renowned for sea glass gathering, and there are strategically placed cafes and pubs, and even restaurants.
Plenty of access points for car users (ie car parks with suitable pubs) and plenty of public transport if you don't have a car

The East Durham Coast offers a wide variety of sites from modern industrial to legacy industrial to spectacular views. In any weather it’s a great walk.

The coastline is beautiful but rugged.

I’m lucky that work brings me to Seaham every now and then and I get the chance to spend a bit of time on the beautiful but rugged East Durham coast. The council have been working hard to improve access, reduce beach litter (I’ve done group litter picks) and improve information about the industrial past.

Go and enjoy some of our heritage.
