We stayed here for two nights between Christmas and New Year. The hotel looks very grand but the odd thing is that it is bang in the middle of a New Housing estate which is a bit strange. Out of every window you can see houses.

Inside it actually feels very cosy. We had a very nice room with all the period features and chandelier hanging from the ceiling. It was a bit on the small side but it was ok for us. It was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was very good.

The food in the restaurant was excellent and we ate there both nights. Breakfast was also worth having.

The only downside is that the hotel has lots of party nights throughout the year (There is a big list of them on the wall in the bar). There was one on our first night which was not a problem until they cranked up the disco and our room throbbed until after midnight. So if you want a peaceful break, check there is not a party on the nights you stay. The second night was really quiet as we were the only guests!

We used Bowburn Hall for our wedding venue May 2008, it was fantastic. All of the Staff are great and could not be more helpful. The food was fantastic. The rooms were great and very reasonably priced.. All of our guests commented what a nice place it was to be. The room where we had our civil ceremony was nicely set out and they turned it around very well for the afternoon reception. We had lovely warm sunshine which meant we could enjoy the lovely gardens too.

Great venue, great value for money and they were very flexible for our needs. We would like to thank the manager (Richard) for his time in making sure our day went without fault which it did!

Highly recommended.

Last minute booking. A bit disappointed as the hotel is in the middle of a housing estate. However the staff are very friendly and the room although not very big was very nice. Dinner was a bit of a let down as there was a private party with a loud disco going on the the room next to the dining room. The food at dinner was OK but the breakfast was really good 10 out of 10.

Room was reasonably clean and staff were very keen to serve and please. Food was ok - serving portions were generous and prices very reasonable.

The room had a step in it and a poorly located exposed beam that was a little dangerous for finding ones way to the bathroom in the middle of the night. The stairs to the family room we had were narrow and steep, a tough assignment with our modest sized luggage.

Have attended many of the wonderful theme nights held at this hotel, 60's, 70's, Mystery whodunit, Mexican etc. always well attended and enjoyed by all. Enjoyed so much decided to hold my wedding there in April 2004 - Excellent!!! Manager and the whole of the staff made it a wonderful event, many of the guests stayed over and have since gone back for weekends ect. Can recomend the food especially the superb Sunday roasts and they do not cost a packet. Would encourage anyone to try this hotel out, they will not be dissapointed at the value.
