I really love this place, the trees and plants are so beautiful and it is always really peaceful. You would never think you are only a few minutes from the busy city centre. Worth a visit at any time of year because there is always something lovely to see.

Went with my youngest daughter over two years ago to do some local area/amenities research for diploma course. Staff at gate very welcoming and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, plenty to see and lovely relaxing grounds and parks.

It’s a great place to spend a couple of hours. OK shop and reasonable though not very exciting cafe also.

Well worth the walk uphill to the area near the "hill colleges" & the oriental museum, these wonderful gardens are home to a plethora of plants from all around the world - medicinal, exotic, so many varieties to see. The gift shop had some nice things that I bought as presents. There's a decent cafe - food & drink average but who cares if you need something warm & filling after a trudge uphill?
