I've been meaning to leave the review of this charming little tea room (which is tucked away at the bottom of Old Elvet bridge) for ages. It has become my favourite tearoom in Durham (and beyond) and one I always go to with my family, friends and colleagues. You can have the most delicious home made cakes there. Your mouth waters just looking at them! The cheese scones are ones of the best I have ever had and so is the afternoon tea (which you must book in advance). They have an amazing selection of teas to suit all palates. No PG tips in there! I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. But beware: the place is tiny so it can get a bit cramped. Also note that it is shut on Mondays (I have been caught out many a time) and that it closes at 4 o'clock.
