Me and my partner were in Durham on business, ended up booking b&b last minute on a Saturday evening. Queens head was one of the few that had a room available.
The sink in the room had hair and paper stuck in the plug hole, a mirror next to it had lot of toothpaste stains, the bin was full of empty strongbow cans, cobwebs hanging from a squint lampshade, no bulb in the side lamp, brown stains on the kettle, dirty carpet and curtains and inches of dust everywhere.
Breakfast what they called continental was a choice of 2 cereal types and bread with the toaster propped on a chair, hot water in the flask and sachets of coffee, tea and sugar all mixed up in an old ice cream tub. Worse than a hostel.
The whole place is in need of renovation but at the end of the day there is no excuse for dirty rooms.
We ended up having a meal in the same pub at night too and the steak was terrible. Indeed should stick to just being a pub
