“Quick bite to eat”
Reviewed 21 June 2014

Ate here with my parents on a quick visit to Durham. The menu isnt extensive, but it doesn't need to be. mostly sandwiches salads and cakes but they are all gorgeous. I had a BLT and the bacon was lovely and crispy and plenty of it. instead of crisps is was served with vegetable crisps which was a nice change. lovely and all homemade stuff.
prices are a little expensive. especially the drinks.
Staff are very friendly and my only bad comment is it can get very noisy as it is an old building with high ceilings and wooden floors. not really a bad point but if you are sensitive to noise it could be an irritation.

“lovely staff, great location, tasty lunch, happy people :)”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

Found this by accident, really pleased. Staff really keen to give us a lovely lunch before our boat trip, super sandwiches and salads, I was surprised other people thought it was dear, we thought it very reasonable, but then we live in a tourist area ourselves. The location is superb, highly recommend this cafe and would definitely return again.

“Excellent views and staff :)”
Reviewed 6 May 2014 via mobile

I was in durham on a long weekend with my partner and stumbled across this beautiful little cafe. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful views of the cathedral. We ordered the afternoon tea for 2 which was perfectly presented by a very helpful waitress Kay (as I read the name badge) she could not do enough for us very attentive and made us feel so welcome. The excellent service topped off our visit to the north east. Would defiantly recommend to anyone visiting

“Very Warm and Welcoming”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

We fell into this lovely cafe during a monsoon-like downpour and very welcome it was. The service, if a little slow, was smiling and pleasant. The food and drink was good too. Recommended and we would go back if in the area.
