Newly opened, very pleasantly surprised at quality of food. Very good thai green curry for me and mixed tapas for Wife, both pleased with choice. Staff helpful and friendly. Good chilled glass of sauvignon blanc, not cheap but enjoyable.

I recently visited Lotus Lounge after many recommendations from friends.
We made a reservation for a Saturday night and once we arrived we were immediately greeted by management and shown to our table (which was lovely; situated inside the 'cage'). It was fairly busy and the place had a nice atmosphere.
The food was fabulous, we chose to start with a sharing platter.. A great chance to have a taste of a mixture of dishes - Tempura Prawns were a personal favourite! The service was excellent; all the girls were friendly and always happy to help.
After the meal, we relaxed in the bar area and each ordered a few cocktails from the menu - (I recommend the 'Berry Go Round').
Overall a brilliant night, we will definitely be back!

Stellar new addition to the restaurant scene in Durham.

Went for a meal with family at 7 pm and was greeted with warm friendly staff, past a lovely bar into the restaraunt which was Asian decor.

While the food in general was great the starters were fantastic, the "Asian platter" was a "selection of chefs choice dishes to sample", it arrived in just under 10 minutes and for the price was a large helping of two meat Dishes and two fish dishes including 2 contrasting salads.

For the mains we had Pad Thai's, a Pork Nasi and the duck platter, all were beautifully presented and very tasty.

Lovely experience , will return again soon!

I went here with family (group of 9 people) the other day after a long graduation, one of the member wanted Asian food so we decided to pop into this restaurant. We entered the establishment at 11:30pm thinking of ordering the whole menu since being up from 5am and having no food.

The restaurant's deco looks very modern, the waiting staff was friendly and polite, when we were seated, to our surprise we were offered an English Brunch menu, yes an English Brunch menu in a Pan-Asian restaurant !

We asked the manager whether it will be possible to order from the lunch/ A la carte menu, his response was extremely rude and unhelpful. He declined our request and said that menu doesn't start until 12pm. Which we were shock about since you would have thought the restaurant would have made more money letting their a large group ordering from the A La Carte menu. Also by the time we placed our order it would have been 11:45pm, yet the manager wasn't accommodating at all.

Nevertheless we ordered a couple of full English breakfast and Eggs Benedict for around £4-6 each, which included a tea/ coffee. The food itself was very average, you would have been better ordering food from a pub chain in terms of quality and value for money. I had the eggs benedict and the hollandise sauce they came with the dish was poorly made (it was too liquidity and didn't taste like hollandise), but the poached eggs was well cooked.

Overall if you want fancy some Pan Asian Food before 12pm. I would suggest you look elsewhere to avoid disappointment !

Having enjoyed Lotus Lounge in Yarm since it opened I was delighted to hear they were opening a second restaurant in Durham. The Pan Asian menu has something for all tastes, is beautifully presented and most important tastes great. Regretted driving there - great cocktail menu!
