Online booking easy and good instructions on how to get there. Reception staff very helpful on arrival. The family room provided was spacious and airy also very clean as was the bathroom. No problems with noise. The restaurant was very busy , and we did have to wait upto 40 mins for our meal, was just right if you have young children as there is a play area whilst waiting. The menu was varied with plenty to choose from.

Great value for the money and so near to Beamish and Durham.

We booked in to stay for two nights. The hotel has been recently refurbished and looks spick and span. Helpful and friendly receptionist on the desk. Room and bathroom was fresh, clean and bright and looked new.
We had to cancel the second night as my Wife wasn't feeling well. There was no problem on gaining a refund and again the receptionist was very caring and helpful. We would recomend this hotel as the first one to stay at if visiting the Durham area

I travelled up to Durham to see my girlfriend and thought it would be good to choose a hotel near to both her location and the city centre. As I would expect of a major hotel chain the receptionist was polite and pleasant and checking in was simple. On arriving in my room it was adequate without setting my world on fire, the bed was comfortable enough (the pillows could have been better). The biggest let down was the food, we decided to stay on site for our 1st night and wished we hadn't, the food was bland, not cooked properly and warm at best. Some of it tasted like microwave food and to be honest made us lose our appetites. We decided on an early night and to make a good early start the following morning, this was hard work due to the noise from other guests and despite my girlfriend contacting reception to complain, did not stop.
One thing for certain I won't be staying here on future visit to Durham.

We travelled with our children and other family members for a nearby wedding. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind, offering good advice for activities with the children etc. Great rooms, spotlessly clean. Amazing breakfast! Unbelievable quality and value for money! We highly recommend staying here, and we will again!
