This gem of a venue sits at the top of a hill, climbing up and out of Durham City. A pleasant walk or very easy bus ride takes you to a vintage styled working launderette bedecked with 1950's china, posters and washing related memorabilia. Relax with an OCC coffee (best coffee ever from Newcastle) and Tunnocks teacake on the leather chesterfield in the day, and in the evening enjoy the best of British and International folk artists sitting around the washing machines. Mr Wishy Washy greets all as an old friend and you would be hard pushed to find any more North eastern hospitality than here. The acts (even if you haven't heard them) are handpicked and after seven visits, I am happy to go to anything as they have all been superb. A licensed bar means you can not only enjoy the music but can listen with a beer or wine in hand. The intimate nature of the venue is a real treat as you really are next to the artists and can always stay back for a chat. Go Now!
