This is a quiet haven in the midst of this World Heritage site, adjacent to some of the leading exhibitions, including the Lindisfarne Gospels.

Two exhibitions one on archaeology and one on the Durham Light Infantry. The archaeology display wascunusual in that it was connected with the efforts of law abiding metal detectorists. The DLI display made up for the lost of the DLI museum.

Almost deathly quiet library right in the heart of Durham. Very much worht a trip if you want to study some great historical documents and also get your head down and do some real work.

Visited three great exhibitions here, archaeology was interesting, the Durham Light Infantry one was extremely interesting and poignant plus a real fun game to play about their campaigns, lastly the fairy display, again really interesting, old English tales of folklore, presented very well.
Staff on the desk very helpful and friendly
