“Petty ignorant people”
Reviewed 23 August 2012

On arrival we was told that we smelled of smoke and told there would be a fine for smoking inside something we would .not do.Then my 4 year old was told off for ringing the doorbell and told there was a sign that stated this unfortunately being 4 he can't read yet. Then we was fined for him wetting the child's bed that he was in £15 is a lot of money to wash a sheet. Our towels were not changed after 3 days and we were fined for£5 for using 2 extra towels. This place is not for families beware of fines under your door.

Thank you for your comments and I will address them each individually.

1. We do remind each guest on arrival that smoking is not allowed in the premises and that they can smoke outside on the terrace.

2. Your 4 yr old was politely asked not to ring the door bell and to await your arrival as they had run on ahead of you along a busy road. They were at no time referred to a sign. Sometimes someone else asking a child not to do something has more effect than their parent.

3. The child did wet the bed. The fine was for the following:
a. Changed mattress for another – steam cleaned said mattress to remove urine. (Hire charge for steamer £10.00)
b. Pillow soiled and therefore un-cleanable and had to be destroyed. (New Pillow replacement £7.00)
c. Clean sheet, mattress topper with clean pillowcases and pillow protector. (Washing and our time to do all of these 20 minutes - £8.00)
d. A total cost to us of £25.00 therefore a fine of £15.00 was not excessive.

4. Towels are changed in accordance with B & B guidelines after 4 nights stay unless requested otherwise at a small additional charge of 50p per towel. We were not allowed to service your room on the first day due to the sign on the door. On servicing your room after 2 days we counted 8 large towels and 2 small hand towels of which we had provided you with 4 large towels and 2 small hand towels – therefore you had HELPED YOURSELF to 4 large towels from a private linen cupboard which had then been used for the beach- we do not supply towels for the beach and if we had been asked we would of provided suitable towels from a different source.

5. With regards to the “Fine” THIS IS VERY AMUSING as you left WITHOUT PAYING anything nor your outstanding wifi fee. We were going to allow the matter to rest however we will be reconsidering our decision.

6. If you were confused with why an additional charge was being levied or felt it was unreasonable, we would have been more than happy to discuss it further with you, but you did not express any concern, confusion or any grievance to anyone of us before your departure.

All we ask from parents or guardians who bring children to our establishment is that they are responsible for them and ensure that they do not spoil other guest’s enjoyment.

We have had over 180 different people stay with us over the last month and to only received 2 grievances’ we feel we are doing something right, with many of which are set to return next year.

Les, Cynth and family make wonderful hosts.
We were there for the B-MAD Bike Festival in May this year (10 of us stayed in May).
Little did we know we'd be back so soon, this time with family members, and we'll be back again as soon as we can.

There was a good selection of food at breakfast and there appeared to be no skimping on quality. Les will cook your bacon as you like it (if you ask him nicely lol)

The bar was well stocked with a fine choice of bottled beer and cider.

The whole family have a really good sense of humour, and 'NOTHING' is too much trouble for them.

Look forward to seeing you all again soon

Room Tip: We've stayed in room N0;'s 12 and 2. Both rooms were lovely, But, room 2 was the best of the...

Arrived here without a booking due to leaving our previous poor accomodation. made very welcome. rooms are decorated in a cosy traditional way. breakfast was excellent but could have had better sausage (fairly common problem in our experience). Friendly owners and relaxing atmosphere.

We stayed for two nights just a short break to recharge our batteries and what a lovely stay we had. The whole of the family made us feel very welcome, very comfortable rooms just a short walk to the beach. The breakfast was very very good and very enjoyable no skimping on anything. We shall definately be back and would highly reccomend this is the place to stay without a doubt.
