“Hotel Fab, not so keen on Brewers fayre next door.”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

Lovely hotel, wonderful helpful staff here. We had room 9 a family room it was lovely as we have stayed in a similar chains where the think kids deserve to be stuck on the floor !! , but luckily the same can't be said for Premier inn( 2 lovely single beds provide). Thee room looked out onto the green & lake in one direction and the sea in the other. Couldn't fault the view, it was not noisy outside and certainly didn't hear talking or footsteps from our room the hotel was very quiet. The bathroom was spotless, the room was spotless. We had breakfast every day in the Brewers Fayre next door, this was good , a nice choice and we paid £32 for 2 adult breakfast on Saturday and Sunday(the kids got free breakfast). We felt it was worth the money as we were full and didn't eat again till 4/5pm. However on the day of arrival we didn't want to travel and the Brewers Fayre is the only place to eat at the beach apart from a small kiosk(I'd stop somewhere before arrival in future). An evening meal for 4 with a drink and desert came to £64( and the next day in Paignton we paid £34 for a similar amount of food in a local café). The hotel though was a fab experience , can't be faulted and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Room Tip: 9 was fab, could see the sea, the lake and green Plenty of room for 4 of us.

Just got back from 2 nights at this hotel, and I must say we had a great time. the hotel is very clean and well presented, the staff are excellent and the Brewers fayre pub is great ! The location is spot on we had a sea view which although was a bit cloudy was still nice. Parking is a bit of a bind though we managed eventually, We will come back later this year.... thanks

Room Tip: ask for a sea view !!!!!

The hotel staff were friendly and the room was as expected; and clean, apart from a few crumbs on the settee. Furnishings are of a decent standard, with comfy bed, air conditioning and good shower - the standard Premier Inn fare.
However we ate at the adjoining pub and this left a lot to be desired. This wasn't the height of summer, but the pub was very busy and service was a bit slow. The food is cheap and unfortunately you reap the reward for this; my mixed grill especially reflected this. Most of it was okay, but the piece of steak was as tough as the proverbial old boots and I just couldn't eat it.
Breakfast the next morning was even more disappointing. Unlike some Premier Inns, which have a buffet style breakfast, here you have to order the cooked food and it took the best part of an hour to turn up - and the bacon and sausage were dry and unappetising. The breakfast area wasn't busy, so this was all very disappointing.
My advice; stay at the hotel but find somewhere else to eat.
One last thing - the hotel uses a pay and display car park, which is free for guests, but it was busy and the spaces are quite tight. I'm sure a lot of guests end up with door dents etc.

We enjoyed our four day anniversary stay very much. The hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly. We had room 34 on the top floor which had a sea view being on the top floor meant we could leave the window open at night, and listen to the waves, a very nice way to drift off to sleep, just make sure your fit because this room is a long way up two flights of stairs with no lift, but it does give you a way of working off your breakfast. We were celebrating our 34th anniversary and we were pleasantly surprised to find a lovely card waiting for us on the bed when we arrived very nice touch. We will be staying there again in the future hopefully in the same room overall a very enjoyable stay.

Stayed here for two nights in half term and was very impressed with the location. If you have small children you could easily spend all day on the beach or at the adjacent water park with no need to get in to a car.

The beds are extremely comfortable, the room is clean and the staff are all polite and efficient. In particular I must praise the lady in the restaurant serving breakfast with the midlands accent. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she took some quite complicated breakfast orders for our large table quickly.

The breakfast was very good and all included in the price. We will return in the summer holidays.

Where can i start. The location is good. The car parking facilities leave alot to be desired, there are only a very small number of parking spaces for hotel guests. Towels were not replaced on three occasions and had to go to reception.
Loo paper was not filled and left empty
Carpets were not vacuumed
Bathroom floor not cleaned.
Having stayed at very many Premiere Inns over the years without cause for complaint. This would have put me off ever using the brand again. However 1 bad experience does not make it a decsion not to use in the future.
