Probably the best B & B we have ever stayed in. The standard of cleanliness was first class, the bed was as comfy as ours at home! Breakfast was so big we had to ask for less !!!! Pauline and Sue were so welcoming and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The location of the hotel is great, only a couple of minutes walk to the seafront or the town centre. In fact, our car stayed in the car park all week. If we wanted to go anywhere we just went on a bus - a first for us! Would highly recommend the Cherwood to all our friends and family.

We just got back from a 3 night stay at The Cherwood, would have loved to have stayed longer but had work commitments :( My husband and I stayed with our 2 young children and we were all pleased with everything that was provided, including emery boards and cotton buds! Also loved the way Pauline and Sue provided a soft toy on the kids beds and a bowl of sweets in the room too!!! The whole guest house is immaculate, the beds are extremely comfortable with literally everything you will need for your entire stay. The breakfast is amazing the bacon and the sausages were the best we had ever eaten. You must also try the local jams they are too delish to avoid (we even bought a couple of jars to bring home). Pauline and Sue were fantastic guides of the local area by telling us their recommended restaurants and beaches and also the best place for cream tea you really must take their advice on this. We would definately recommend this guest house to anyone staying in Devon you surely wont be disappointed.

Room Tip: best beach we went to was at Goodington and the best cream tea was at The Rose Cottage

My wife, daughter and I have just returned from a weeks stay at this great hotel. We loved it so much last year that we just had to go again and we were not dissapointed.
Since last year Pauling has made numerous improvements to here great establishment including new bathroom suites, TV's, mattresses etc etc etc and this just made our stay even better than last time.
The hotel is spotless with not a thing out of place. I must say that the prices in the bar were very good and we sampled various tipples every night.
It was carnival week during our stay end every day and night there was lots to do on the sea front with a carnival procession to motorcycle night which again was great.
Now lets get back to the nitty gritty!!!!! Paulines breakfast is a sight to behold, it just got bigger and bigger and bigger every morning until I could not eat any more. You must try the homemade jams and marmalade as well as we just had to take a few jars home (they were going to be presents but they are just too good to give away).
We would like to thank Pauline and Sue for everything it is just the best place to stay and a wonderful holiday experience. What more can I say.
See you soon :) (sorry to say we will be back for more)

Very friendly welcome by Pauline on arrival at this hotel. The facilities were excellent. It was like visiting friends with Sue and Pauline read for a laugh and joke which was appreciated especially when travelling alone, nothing was too much trouble. Pauline was always available with advice where to visit and where to eat. Parking facilty excellent. Last but by no means least was the breakfast which was excellent - poached eggs to die for. Thanks Pauline

We stayed for one night on Saturday. The Cherwood has everything you'd want including a good location close to the front, well equipped rooms and an especially warm and friendly welcome. Breakfast was superb with the option of locally smoked haddock or kippers as well as the full English. Pauline and her staff run a tight ship and we highly recommend staying here.
