I have just had a family holiday from 27th-31st may 2014 at the briars in paignton.we have just returned home this afternoon {31st may} from 4 great days and nights staying in the briars.mandy and malcolm who run the briars were brilliant hosts once again nothing was any trouble for them. All the rooms are always clean and tidy there is a beverage tray in the rooms. My room had great view you could see the sea and along the front from the window. Breakfast was cooked to perfection by mandy who has malcolm and another girl on hand to help her. If you are looking for a place to stay in paignton give the briars a go you will you will get a warm and friendly welcome.

Room Tip: ALL THE ROOMS ARE GOOD WITH A SEAVIEW A lot of the rooms have a bath or shower in them

Just packing at the end of another lovely visit to The Briars. Great seeing Malcolm and Mandy again, they really look after their guests very well, and because of that they keep on coming back! Just looking in the guest book st the number of repeat visits tells you their popularity with their guests! The rooms are well furnished, the beds comfortable and breakfast is a treat!

Spend some time in the bar with them at the end of a day visiting the various attractions in the area and get to know them as friends as we do, you'll be coming back for many years.

Hope to see you again soon!

Room Tip: Room number one is great, open the curtains in the morning and look across Torbay - fantastic!

My husband & I spent 4 days here in May & had a wonderful break. Malcolm & Mandy were a wonderful couple who made us feel very welcome. Our room had a beautiful view & was very clean with a generous beverage tray. Breakfast was cooked to perfection by Mandy & Malcolm was on hand to make sure you had all you want. If you want to round your day off then a bar is on hand at the hotel as well. We would definitely stay here again as it was one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Thank you Malcolm & Mandy.

Room Tip: Room 7 for the best view over the bay.

Our room was spacious, clean with very good facilities, tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc...
Toiletries, hair dryer and soft white towels changed as and when wanted. Breakfast by far excelled anything one would have expected. Malcolm and Mandy made us feel very much at home and nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful and clean everywhere. Not a fault to be found. Highly recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in the Bay.

Malc & Mandy were so friendly & nothing was too much trouble to make my stay perfect. Spotlessly clean throughout. Had a seaview room with brilliant view across the bay welll equipped room quality toiletries, fluffy towels, well stocked hospitality tray and lots of little extras. The bed was really comfy and had a good nights sleep. The breakfast was excellent with lots to choose from good start to the day. Location is perfect across the road and you are on the beach and round the corner you are at the harbour. Plenty of parking which is good as parking can be a problem in paignton. I would recommend the Briars it is perfect in every way.

Room Tip: Room 5 excellent large seaview room.

Our room had a really nice view over the seafront. The room itself was large, although as we were told at the time of booking, the shower room was tiny. The breakfast was great and the cleanlines of the building was extremely good. The owners couldnt have been nicer either. Only reasons I haven't given a 5 review are that the showers water pressure was low (plenty of hot water though) and the wifi was poor (although owner informed me this should be sorted around Christmas). A recommended place to stay we thought.
