Premier Inn Paignton South - Brixham Road

Value hotel with basic facilities and spacious room. New, clean and modern. Location not bad at all if you planned to visit the harbour and Torquay. Location is along the road but windows are sound proof and so was not disturbed at all. Their family room has one small single bed, double bed with (exra) trundle bed. A relatively new premier inn.

Room Tip: Our room was #212 facing the main road.

Stayed in a family room in August for 3 nights. The room was clean, comfortable and in a quiet location as previously requested by e-mail. Found the room to be a little smaller than other Premier Inn family rooms I have previously stayed in. I was also a little disappointed to find a crack in the bathroom sink. Heard a little noise in the room above at about midnight each night. I prefer to be on the top floor to avoid this, but the family rooms were only on the ground or first floors.

There was ample parking and a bus stop nearby for touring the Torbay area. You could buy a family ticket for £11.80 per day (2 adults and 2 children) unlimited travel and you can travel as far as Dartmouth, which was a lovely journey through the countryside. It would have been helpful if we were advised of the fact there is a different bus stop a few minutes further down the road for weekend travel though, as we wasted half an hour waiting at the wrong stop one day!

Breakfast was cooked to order and was very good at the Beefeater next door. Had booked one evening meal at the Beefeater too, which was very nice, although service a little slow.

To sum it up this hotel is a good base to stay when exploring the Torbay area, although next time I will try the Premier Inn at Goodrington Sands.

Good company and visit. Very good staff, but ensure no families are next door to you. Younger children the problen (school holidays). Breakfast was excellent, with good staff. All items ordered were fresh and hot at the table

Just returned from a weeks stay at Paignton South premier. On arriving Luke on reception could not have been more helpfull. We were on the 2nd floor and the room was bright ,clean and air conditioned (which was a god send). Unfortunatly our first night was quite badly disturbed due to the people in the room above doing the river dance all night !! (not alot of sound proofing between floors) Rooms were made up everyday that we requested with clean towels and tea and coffee. We found a kindle in the room which had been left by the previous people, apparently they had reported it and accused staff of theft. We found it hidden under the bed and returned it to reception immediatly. A small thankyou would not have gone a miss.
The only thing that let this hotel down was the obvious staffing problems in the Beefeater adjoined. We went in the first night and although it did not appear busy (lots of empty tables) we were told the only seating was in the bar. this was not a problem as after a 7 hr journey you just want food... we booked to have a meal on the Monday evening at 20.30hrs. On our arrival we stood at reception for a good 10 mins waiting to be seated. When we were seated we were told it was a 50 min delay on food......we ordered straight away as we were very hungary. Our starter arrived after about 30 mins, but to be honest it looked like it had been thrown on the plate. Our main course eventually arrived after an hour and it was extremley dissapointing. First of all it was cold and secondly not what we ordered....our son has a very severe nut allergy so we specifically asked for a plain burger and chips. He ended up with spicy chips, burger in a bun with cheese and all the relish etc......we ended up at KFC down the road which was very tasty.....The waiter ,Harry was at all times polite and extremly helpfull....So great Premier, just eat elsewhere.....

very clean tidy room, service with a smile. receptionist was very helpful in explaining hotel setup including meal arrangements and facilities offered. A little expensive for one night, breakfast could have been included for the price to make better value.

Just returned from a week in Devon and stayed in the relatively new Premier Inn. Very well located just outside Paignton and although it is on the main road, the building and rooms are protected from noise. We stayed in a room with a double bed, en suite, good size, TV, Tea and Coffee making facilities. Very clean and modern, Towels changed to your liking. Can't open windows but A/C is standard. WiFi for first 30 mins each day is free, then you have to pay.
There is a Beef eater at the back but for Breakfasts go to Morrisons Super Market next door to Paignton Zoo - great affordable Breakfasts, lots of choice. Better than Sainsburys.
Staff at the Inn were always very friendly and helpful.
