our kids have flown the nest now but i was eager to go and see what all the hooha has been about cus a lot of locals mainly elderly have been complaining.well!i thought it was super.so much entertainment for the kids.my only concerns were 1-it definately should be inclosed in as being next to the main road.2-it had only been open 3days and there were cigarette butts and chip wrappers everywhere and 3-possibly looks like it could become a mothers meeting place just to let their kids run riot.it looks like you have to have eyes at the back of your head as theres just so much there.tho do wish i had young kids cus it looks fun.

“Fantastic park”
Reviewed 20 April 2012

Loads of things for children of all ages to do. Nicely set out, lots of space and modern play equipment. Filled up with noisy teenagers late in the evening, however.

“Fantastic facility for Paignton - with a few wishes!”
Reviewed 14 April 2012

At long last the Geopark at Paignton Sea Front has opened and it is fantastic to have such high quality facilites. There is a nice feel about the park and some more unusual play equipment - such as swings organised in a circle so that kids can swing in towards each other. There is enough equipment for both young children and older ones which makes it better than other parks. Located right next to the beach, the park is likely to provide an inexpensive 'day out' at Paignton sea front - long needed!

On the downside, it is a shame there is no fencing around the park (a knee-level fence would be perfect). On the first day of opening, I noticed two people picking up dogs mess that their pets had left actually in the park. They looked very embarrased and it was clearly not intentional, but being the parent of a partially-sighted child I was disappointed. My child - and any other running to play in the equipment - will not see dog's mess and it is this, if anything that will discourage me from using the park. And it is a big issue! I mentioned it to the park warden who was there who asked me to refer it to his Manager (also in the park for the opening). I did this, and he explained the rationale behind the no fences (to encourage parent participation and to prevent parents from dropping kids off there whilst they visit the town shopping). Whilst I understand these issues, it is going to be a real disappointment if we cannot use the park as it is full of dogs mess. I was told that a park warden would be permanently based at the park and, talking to friends, I gather that this is true. However, teenagers have now relocated from the newly opened Parkfield to the play park - making it quite a daunting experience for small kids and parts of the park have been vandalised within 2 weeks. The Park Warden did not approach the teenagers whilst we were there even though they were being a bit OTT in terms of behaviour and impacting on the enjoyment of others.

I really hope the council sort out both these issues (the dogs mess and the teenagers) as the facilites are what we desperately need. If they don't I will continue to frequent Decoy and Teignmouth instead.

Great new park, lots to do, and great for parents to sit and watch them as plenty of seating. Donkey rides next to it too.
