“good pint”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 April 2013

popped in for quick pint on way into town centre, this landlord knows how to look after his beer. friendly place, typical drinkers pub rather than upmarket eating place.

“A Xmas day to forget”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 January 2013

Went there for Xmas lunch 2012 with friends & we were bitterly disappointed. The place was freezing cold & although the starters & fish course were adequate, customers had to ask for condiments & cutlary. The wait for the main course was interminable & when it did eventually arrive it was inedible, the sprouts, carrots & cabbage were soft, mushy & watery, there was little meat & the "roast" potatoes were disgusting - grey in appearance & hard in texture. The only enjoyable items were the little "pigs in blankets"! My friend who had booked the meal was distraught, saying to us it was the worst meal she had ever tasted, we agreed & we all left 9/10ths of our meals. When the young girl serving table asked if we had finished & we said yes, she made no attempt to clear the plates away for our desserts & after another long wait we
eventually decided to forego dessert & left, placing the full balance of the meal on the bar counter. A miserable Xmas Day lunch experience.
