Yet another wonderful holiday staying at Summerhill, this is our 8th year. After our long journey from West Yorkshire we are always made very welcome and are fully relaxed immediately, the owners & staff are always very obliging to help if needed. The breakfast sets us up for the day and we always eat in the Hotel on an evening, the meals are always excellent, very good value for money. The hotel is very clean & comfortable, a real credit to everyone concerned. A BIG THANK YOU once again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the shaded side with a balcony, recommended.

We really enjoyed our 10 night stay. We were met on the Saturday when we arrived and offered a much needed drink of tea. Room had a balcony the doors of which we never closed as our time there was over the heatwave period. Therefore the room was reasonably cool at all times. The breakfast was as good as anywhere we have ever stayed both in quality and quantity and variation. We took advantage of the free admission to the Torbay Leisure Centre and used the swimming pool and spa facilities every morning before breakfast. The hotel is situated central to enable you to visit all of Torbay. Which we did. The staff are friendly and the hotel has a peaceful atmosphere. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We found this hotel on the internet, we dont normally book room so just turned up. we were shown three rooms and chose room 8 with balcony for three nights. we ordered the full breakfast on the first morning and the food was truly magnificent (too much in fact) so the next two mornings i chose the haddock and egg. i have never had eggs cooked so good before.
the only thing stopping giving 5 stars was the shower gel and water was not replaced daily but this is a minor issue. we went in very hot weather and the rooms were hot overnight but this would have been the same anywhere plus the sea is only 5 minutes walk away

We stayed over for three nights early July 2013. The wheelchair access room with shower was as shown on their website, and we found it comfortable. The roll in shower worked for a narrow wheelchair. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food good.

Found this on the internet and booked a family room which was ideal for our one night stay. We wished we had booked two nights to be honest. Agree with all other reviewers re breakfast (so nice to be served individually instead of the usual buffet style). Most attentive staff and welcoming. Definitely quiet and relaxing, you could spend a week there no problem. Have to say that we were there during a very hot spell and found sleeping difficult in our 3rd floor room but no hotel's fault....far better sun than rain!

Found this hotel by chance on the internet. My choice was made on the basis that this hotel offered suitable wheelchair accessible accommodation for my elderly disabled mother, with sufficient facilities to enable her to have a safe and relaxing holiday, with my own room nearby. The hotel rooms were very clean and tastefully decorated. The hotel itself has character enhanced by the many artefacts and antiques on display. It is very centrally located, with many places of interest and entertainment in relatively close proximity, yet away from traffic and in a safe and tranquil location. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are beautifully cooked and provided sustenance for the day - so much so, we couldn't do dinner justice so didn't try the evening menu, despite being tempted. I would highly recommend this hotel, and hope one day to return

Room Tip: Two rooms dedicated to disabled travellers are available. Top floor rooms are probably the quietest...

Another holiday at this lovely comfortable hotel, with perfect weather this time. Best hotel bed I have ever slept in. The full English breakfast keeps you going all day. I also had several evening meals, plenty of choice and beautifully presented, followed by Tia Maria coffee, perfection!
Sat on my balcony, in the sun, having a cuppa, most afternoons.
Look forward to my next holiday here.

Room Tip: All rooms good, but choose a balcony room to make it special. Room 7 & 8 are favourites
