Went on a coach trip and this was the hotel chosen by them. Excellent value the food was good you had plenty of choice for breakfast, choice of a three course meal in the evening and entertainment in the evening as well. Our room was a bit hot but they provided us with a fan when we asked for one and we did hav e a bit of problem with the water (temp and pressure) they did try to resolve but didnt manage to do so. Had we have been staying for a week this would have needed to be sorted out. The staff were extremly friendly and helpful especially a young pregnant girl who worked on the bar and was again serving breakfast the following morning, always smiling and asking if everything was ok. She will be sorely missed when she leaves to have her baby. I would certainly recommend this hotel for a friendly relaxed stay at a reasonable price. It is also great for families as the beach is just a short walk straight down the road.

Room Tip: If the weather is good check you have plenty of windows to open

We booked a 4 night coach holiday with GB Tours. Travelled with our family, in total 8 of us.
Had previously read some poor reviews, so did not expect the Ritz. However, we were pleasantly surprised. Our coach arrived late, so we had to quickly get to the dining room for dinner. Cases were taken to our rooms whilst we ate. Dinner was 3 courses plus tea/coffee. Soup every evening, choice of 3 starters, 3 or four main courses, including salad. Fresh vegetables each evening, plenty of choice and ample portions. Choice of desserts. No complaints whatsoever. Breakfast was the usual cereals, fruit, juice, toast. Then a full English, and I think there were kippers. No complaints at all about the food, and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
The hotel was certainly very tired, although there were builders in changing doors. Our bedroom was large enough, bedside tables, wardrobe, chair. Opening windows. Bath had shower over which was a bit temperamental - the floor got flooded the first time I used it. But no problems really.
Entertainment every night was ok - guests seemed to enjoy it. Bar served reasonably priced drinks all evening - the poor staff always seemed to have two or three jobs to do at any one time, but all were very friendly and a pleasure to meet them.
Hotel a short walk to the beach which made a nice evening stroll. Could also walk through a park to the shopping centre and train station. All very convenient.
Coach company was excellent, brand new coach. Driver also friendly, helpful, could not have been better. We had travel to Devon, two full day trips with the coach, all for £146 each. You may get what you pay for, but we had a wonderful time, and a lick of paint here and there would not have improved our holiday.

Room Tip: There is a lift to the second floor.

We had the unfortunate experience at staying in this Hotel "Hostel" for one night and the room was disgusting, the en-suite was barely the size of the wardrobe and the cleanliness was awful..

The price was very expensive and as for the so called free breakfast I would've preferred a tenner rebate and gone for a snack on the sea front.

The leaflet stated that it had been recently refurbished which is total rubbish, they have replaced some of the doors and that's about as much as we could see had been done.

This is by far the worst Hotel I have ever stayed in and that is saying something.

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid...

Room Tip: Do NOT stay here, Simple !

Went with wife and two children for 8 nights. Really good value for money. All you can eat breakfast on morning with prompt service. Entertainment on an evening good and layout of bar pretty good for viewing entertainment. Bar staff all friendly and interact well with guests. I also like the way there isn't signage all over the hotel with rules and regs like some hotels I've stayed in. It's a two minute walk from the beach and 5 minutes from town and rail station. We will be going again hopefully for longer next time.

Room Tip: Possibly a high floor if you don't want to go to entertainment so you don't hear it but entertainment is pretty good.

We spent three nights at this hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and varied and the dining room staff were friendly and very efficient. Entertainment in the evening was great. We were amazed at how they achieved such a high standard for such a low price. Will certainly recommend it to our friends and family.
