“Superb stay, The perfect family holiday destination, including the dog.”

We were given a warm welcome on arrival by Graham, the owner of the property. He was waiting for us, and kindly left a bottle of wine and a pint of milk in the fridge and a box of chocolates on the table... Everything was pristine, in great condition and immediately felt like home. One of the main thing that attracted us to this property was the outdoor area. which was every bit as good as we hoped it to be. There was enough space for our daughter to play whilst being secure and safe for both our daughter and pet dog (which was more than welcome).

The shower in both bathrooms was brilliant. nice and powerful, and quick to give out hot water. Towels provided (even one for the dog). There was plenty of storage space, and TV's in the main living area, master bedroom and dining area, along with WIFI, Virgin TV, Shed loads of DVD's and a Wii.

The beds were really comfy and hard to get out of in the morning. The kitchen was lovely and spacious, and backed onto the decking so we could enjoy the view whilst cooking and eating. All pots, pans and cooking utencils you could need are all there for you to use, and Graham had even left some dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, and cleaning products for us to use.

Within a few minutes in the car you can be at the local chippy, beach front, pubs and restaurants, and supermarket... a little further out were some great locations too... There is a fantastic kids play park on the beach front suitable for all ages and a big field for the dog.

Day trips and things to do are not in short supply, we did the steam train round robin trip to Dartmouth and spent a day in Brixham and Torquay, all of which were fabulous. Due to having a good week of weather we were able to go to the beach (which there are a lot to chose from). There is also a leisure center, zoo, waterpark and other entertainment.

Beautiful views and landscapes, walks, generally very pet friendly wherever you go.

To sum up the overall trip, the accomodation and general location outweighed our expectations. It was an absolutely amazing holiday, and at times we forgot we were still in the UK.

The location is quite hilly and if long walks aren't your thing, then driving about is recommended.

We really couldn't find any real negatives, and by the end of our week stay, the only two things we could think of were, it would be nice to have softer toilet paper, and a little update to the instructions that are left on the kitchen table about how the cooker works (as currently it only explains the hob)... both of which are so negligible they're barely worth mentioning.

We are seriously considering returning at some point.

Thanks for the great holiday.

“Sunny Parkside 👍👍”

Our party consisted of 2 families, 2 adults and 4 children (6, 8, 14 & 14). We stayed 4 nights end of August 2015. We found the house ample big enough for us all. The 3 bedrooms all had good storage and beds were very comfy. The children loved the extra blankets kept in the bedroom for those chilly nights (yes, even in Aug nights can feel a bit chilly). It was very handy having an extra bathroom in the master room. The main bathroom has a lovely over the bath shower and also enough room for our toiletries. The living room has a large TV, DVD with surround sound system, wii and keyboard to keep the children entertained. The kitchen is large with a lot of natural daylighlight and equipped with all the essentials a kitchen needs. There are plenty of extra cups, plates, glasses etc which we found very handy. There is an outside utility room with washing machine and separate dryer (fab!!!!!). The best bit of the house has to be the fabulous garden..........wow!!!!! It has a raised decking area with table, parasol and 6 chairs. Below the decking area is a well kept grassed and flower bed garden with more tables and chairs. In the garden is a secured locked gate which leads out onto an enormous parkland. We all enjoyed the outside when weather permitted, it was very peaceful and tranquil even with the parkland off the garden.
We didn't have a car, but the area is easy to get around. Just a few minutes from the house was a local leisure centre, cannot comment as we did not use it. if you carried on pass the leisure centre for a few more minutes it led you to Goodrington Sands where the beach, a steam train station, outdoor family activities, a few eating places and the big outdoor swimming slides were. One of the eating places at Goodrington Sands is Brewers Fayre, reasonable food and price (especially if you order food before 5pm). Better still is FREE soft indoor play area which the 6yr and 8yr olds loved. A minutes walk from the leisure centre on the main road is a bus stop, if you catch the no12 bus (Newton Abbey), this will take you to Paignton, Torquay and further afield. We all went to Torquay for the day. Definitely visit Torquay only 15 mins on the no12 bus from Goodrington and if you buy an adult day rider bus ticket (£5) then upto 3 children per adult travels for £1 each, bargain!!!! We also used the local taxis company during our stay. If you do decide to use taxis be prepared to wait around 20 minutes for it to come. We went to Morrisons for food supplies, this is the nearest superstores to the house but if you did not bring the car get a taxis otherwise be prepared for a strenuous walk, a few very steep hills on the way to Morrisons. And if you come from a big city like we do then don't automatically think places stay open 24/7. Likes of Morrisins shut at 9pm.
Graham and Helen are the owners of Sunny Parkside and what lovely people they are. They will answer any questions you have and try to ensure you enjoy your stay. They left a chilled bottle of wine in the fridge and a box of chocolates on our arrival, both went down a treat. They also leave other supplies to pass you over for a few days, tea, coffee, toiletries, washing tablets etc all which we found truly handy and a lovely touch by the owners. They will meet you in person on your arrival at the house and show you were everything is and answer any further questions you may have. Both are very professional but very welcoming.
We have never stayed in Devon before but had a really enjoyable time here and would be more than happy to return to Sunny Parkside again.

We booked this amazing place for a week due to my wife just having major knee surgery and also been able to take the dog. This place is just what we wanted and the facilitys where 1st class. Being able to come and go as we pleased and also the easy access to places for us was great. This place was actually for 6 guests but we didn't mind having it all to ourselves. Graham and Helen are great people and have this place to a top standard.
