Dandelion cottage is a perfect holiday home. Close enough to Paignton, Torquay, Dartmouth and Brixham but in the quietest of locations, the shared pool is great and even good in the rain!! Perfect is the only word to use!

“An Idyllic retreat in the rolling Devon Countryside”
Reviewed 24 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

The cottages were tucked away in a delightful location close to Paignton.
Our cottage was very tastefully decorated and well appointed, we had everything we needed.
The shared amenities (Washroom, Sauna, off road parking) were all maintained to a very high standard.
The pool complex was a little haven set in a natural bowl and absolutely perfect when the sun was out, which fortunately was the majority of our time there.
The owners were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble.

“Lovely cottage, well fitted out, no extra requirements needed”

Good position along quiet country lane, great for dog walking, yet only only a short drive to many of Devons beauty spots and fabulous scenery.

This holiday home kind of picked us, we were looking for somewhere in Devon prefering the Paignton/Dawlish area and other half didn't want a carvan, my father needed to bring the dog and I wanted something that had either on site entertainment or a pool (this had a pool)and we needed somewhere to accomadate 6 people this was the only letting available for the dates we wanted and was reasonably priced so we booked. We spoke to Piers a few days before our arrival to let him and Helen know when we were looking to arrive and confirm the number of guests, and we were promtly greeted by Helen on our arrival and shown to Dandelion Cottage. The pictures looked stunning on the website and I have to say the property was just as nice in the 'flesh' it was loverly and clean from top to bottom. Piers and Helen had left us a little welcome gift of various teas/coffee, fresh milk, scones, jam and even a loaf of fresh bread (all of which were gratefully received after a 3 1/2 hour car journey)-the dog even had her own welcome gift of a couple of bonio type biccies! The site is small I believe 4 other cottages plus thier own so its very quiet and it is sited on a very quiet narrow lane. The pool was lovely and clean though it should be noted it's 1.3m deep all round I misjudged this from the photos as it looks like the end with the steps in would be shallower but as 2 of mine are non-swimmers I had taken woggles and swim rings anyway so it wasn't an issue (there are signs up regardimg the depth right around the pool I just hadn't realised when we booked but no big deal) Our cottage was a fabulous base for our needs we love Devon and come here pretty much every year but this is the first time we had stayed in Blagdon but it was really nice. There are several supermarkets all less than 10 minutes from the property as well as a Macdonalds & KFC its also just over a fifthteen minute drive to Paignton seafront which is a lovely beach and there are plenty of places to eat in the high street here. Our cottage was fully equipt with everything you need (full size oven, dishwasher, fullsize fridge/freezer and nice large dining table) in fact based on previous self catering holidays I had packed things like tea towels, sponges and washing up liquid all of which had been provided. I can't rate the property highly enough it was everything we needed/wanted and would highly reccomend it to others. In fact the only fault I can make is actually beyond there control we took our dog with us and she is used to having a grass area unfortunately where the propery is based the only place to walk a dog is down a very narrow and slightly steep twisty road you can do a full circle walk round the property in about 15 minutes and the road is pretty quiet (we walked the dog at least 4xdaily and only passed 4/5 cars all week) it just would of be nice to have access to a small grassed area but as I say this doesn't reflect on the property itself it's just something to be aware of if you are taking a dog with you.

Thank you once again for a very pleasent stay.

“Peaceful”
Reviewed 9 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Blagdon Manor is an oasis of peace yet only 5mins from 3 major supermarkets and zoo and 10mins from 2 good beaches. It was lovely to sit on the terrace and hear nothing but birds singing. The pool area was excellent,as good as some hotels we have stayed in. The cottage was clean and well equipped. Well worth a visit.

Stayed here for a week over half term.
Children loved the pool, I liked the cleanliness and space available.
The setting is deep in a valley, with a narrow lane for access, so it was really quiet, which suited us perfectly.
We were even served a cream tea upon our arrival! Thanks Piers & Helen!
