Stayed recently for one night & I must admit 1st impressions were quite amazing, until we were shown to our room, a superior room. It was at best 3 star quality, very disappointing, not in line with the rest of the hotel. Bathroom was shabby at best. We had dinner in the Mitre restaurant and again it was just ok. Breakfast the next morning was very good though. All in all I left a bit disappointed.

Room Tip: Cheapest room is superior, not good. And not cheap. perhaps the suites are better, but they cost a l...

Stayed here recently for a special birthday treat and what a treat it turned out to be :-) we had a great time from start to finish and nothing was too much trouble for the staff, We ate out in nearby Holywood but everything about the hotel was lovely and the views from our room over Belfast lough were great,, we'll be back when we can save up again!

We stayed there only one night during a group trip to Ireland. Absolutely top notch for accommodation and feed. The staff is simply incredible. They handled all 47 of us on check in and checkout with no issues or delays. We had a meal event with a fixed menu that was a memorable experience. Best group meal ever. Food was hot and as fresh as if the chef had prepared each dish just for our table.

We stayed in the Crozier Suite as part of a wedding package. The suite itself was ok, I know its an old hotel with an old look, so making it modern would take away from its appeal. But they could have still take better care of the suite.

The main issue was one of the windows was broken, and it was broken as it wouldn't close, so the room was freezing. I had a cold before I came here and this didn't help at all. The staff tried to fix it but couldn't get it 100% closed leaving a gap at the top to which they stuck some duck tape over to cover the gap. This window had clearly been broken before we arrived, a massive spiders web at formed over the gap, meaning it hadn't been noticed by the staff until i had brought it to their attention.

That, and the old iPod radio which didn't pick up any local radio stations, the sofa & chair in the room being rock hard and non comfortable, part of the wall leading into the bathroom was missing wallpaper and had a bad paint job in an attempt to fix it up. The bed wasn't made properly, as I took off some of the many pillows I could see the mattress' as the bed sheets were not covering them properly. The shower head was broken, it actually fell apart whilst I was in the shower, show itself wasn't up to much, I've had better in Premier Inn.

Saying all that, the hotel is beautiful, the wedding reception was fantastic, hotel ground are amazing. Bed was massive (two singles pushed together). The breakfast was super and I even got down into the spa for a we dip. Lovely!

I was excited to come stay here, boasting as a luxury 5 Star hotel, I felt our room / suite, let them down a lot. I arrived excited and left disappointed.

Room Tip: unsure about this, as we thought we were getting a room and then we got upgraded to a suite, but eve...

We were only in Belfast for a couple of days, but had a great experience at the Culloden. While we were there- we got to hang out in the bar with Bruce Springsteen and his band- which was quite a surprise! :-) The only negative was that we happened to hit a heat-wave in ireland (rather unusual) and the rooms had no air-con . They did bring us a fan and a bucket of ice- so we managed to cool the room the old fashioned way. :-) The staff were great- The restaurant at the bottom of the hill was nice and friendly- and the grounds and room were superb I'd recommend it!

Room Tip: Check the weather reports- I understand one wing of the hotel has A/C. You probably won't need...

I stayed at the Culloden on Tuesday 19th August. My son was getting married. We had the Stewart Room and we stayed in the Jura Suite. From check in to check out everything about the hotel was superb.

The Stewart Room was self sufficient with its own bar and the view across Belfast Lough from the room was fabulous. The staff in every division from room care, hospitality etc. and even the bar staff treated us like royalty. It makes such a difference to have drinks presented properly and at the right temperature, whilst at the same time with a smile and a little polite conversation.

The room was incredible. Views over the grounds of the hotel and with breathtaking vistas of the lough across to Carrickfergus, down to the Cavehill and Belfast, and out to sea at the opposite end. The lights on the far side of the lough and on the passing ships made a wonderful alternative to the TV. The bed was immense and it was a struggle to force oneself to get up. Definitely the most comfortable bed ever in a hotel.

The food at the wedding was delivered promptly and on time. All the ingredients locally sourced and with generous portions. Once again, the quality was first class. In between breaks it was a pleasure to walk around the sumptuous gardens intersparsed with interesting sculptures.

Our short stay culminated with an excellent buffet type breakfast, and again the cooked food was locally sourced. Just what was needed to set off home with fond memories of a veritable oasis of pleasure. It was a privilege to stay at this Gem of a hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the Lough would give best views. Corner suites best.

Spent an overnight stay here while attending a wedding party.Excellent check in with staff very friendly. Our room wasnt quite ready so we had something to eat and a drink while waiting. When our room was ready we received our room cards and certainly werent dissappointed, the room was massive and the view was to die for.I could stay in the room all day just watching the boats coming and going into Belfast Lough plus all the flights coming and going from George Best Airport. We then availed of the spa which was good but probaly not just as good as others we have used.Overall we had a lovely stay and would certainly stay again.

Room Tip: we stayed in the Belfry 3rd floor with brilliant view
