We stayed at this hotel from 8-11th March 2012 inclusive. This was our first visit to Luccombe Manor Country House hotel and indeed to the Island itself. What a marvellous experience we had from start to finish. The island is stunning and the hotel itself could not be more conveniently located for exploring the rest of the scenic island. From the minute we arrived at Luccombe the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. We had a nice warm and friendly welcome form the manager who showed us personally to our room. The place itself is beautifully maintained with stunning views across the sea from all angles and the gardens are immaculate with outdoor heated swimming pool and hot tub. Unfortunately as we visited out of season these were still closed. The food at breakfast and dinner was first class and there was plenty of it. Good choice of menu for dinner and very helpful and friendly waitresses to serve it who go the extra mile to ensure you enjoy your stay. I would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely clean and picturesque hotel which is ideally located for a 5 minute walk to the beautiful village of Shanklin with its excellent pubs (most of which have live music in the evening), antique shops and tea rooms. Can’t wait to return again.

This is my second visit, and I will be back before long. We were so well looked after, the breakfasts were superb, and the four course evening meal had an excellent range, beautifully cooked - we had lamb shank and sole.
The walk down the steps to the sea takes you to the pretty bay, and in the summer the children enjoyed swimming the sea and as the beach slopes so gently they were perfectly safe even when I didn't go in myself.
Altogether two very happy stays at Luccombe Manor.

Room Tip: Some rooms have sea view

We found all the staff pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. We were very impressed with the high standard of decor and the cleanliness of this lovely building, with its traditional character. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The food was appetizing and well presented, especially the evening meals. The conservatory, with its sea view, was so comfortable that we had to force ourselves to go out of doors - (it was early February.) There was, however, lots to see and do locally. We walked along the coast to Sandown and laughed at the amusing punning jokes inscribed on the beach huts. We also walked in the opposite direction along the delightful wooded coastal path to Ventnor. Luccombe Manor is the ideal venue for a relaxing, luxurious, but affordable break. Had a lovely 4 nights from 26th Feb in a king sized room which was great for us and our rather large dog and his bed. Food at breakfast and dinner was first class as was the customer service received from all staff. We really couldn't fault Luccombe Manor and would highly recommend particularly if you are looking for a dog-friendly hotel. Well located too for Shanklin Old Village and for exploring the rest of the Island. Hot tub was fun too!
