“A little slice of excellence”
Reviewed 26 July 2012

Second time at the Rosemary and definitely not the last. As always Marilyn and Allen made us feel right at home. This time we had the other bedroom which was equally as fantastic as the first one we stayed in. Very light and airy, impeccably clean, beautiful bathroom all very modern with quality furniture and fixings. It truly is a gem of a place.
Marilyn and Allen are the perfect hosts and nothing ever seems to be to much bother at all. The breakfast was as usual enough to fill you for the whole day and so much choice, cereals, fruit and fruit juices, yogurt, toast and of course a choice of several cooked breakfasts including smoked salmon and scrambled eggs!!!!
I can honestly say the Rosemary is streaks ahead of any other B&B we have ever spent time in. We will no doubt be back again and again. The old village part of Shanklin is a great little night out, particularly if you like that quaint little pub feel. Acoustic nights on Friday and Saturday at the village in a fav of ours. Great food all over the island. If you visit the I O W you must stop over at the Rosemary, you'll be so glad you made the right choice.

Thanks again to Allan and Marilyn, we had another great time. Hope to see you soon.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms, all of them are outstanding.

Last week my wife and I visited Rosemary Bed and Breakfast for a third time - and it really does get better each successive time. Alan and Marilyn always welcome us back and it just seems as though we've never been away. The rooms are spacious, light and bright, with extremely comfortable beds; the breakfasts are wonderful - excellent choice and generous portions; and to top it all off there is Alan's legendary lemon drizzle cake which, once tasted, never fails to leave a lasting impression.

Room Tip: Both rooms are excellent.

This is an exceptional B and B in all respects. The room was lovely and very clean. The shower was excellent. The extra touches added for guest comfort are too numerous to mention. The hosts were lovely and unobtrusive. Superb!

We had a very relaxing stay at Rosemary. Warm and friendly welcome. Very comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Couldn't fault anything, even the weather was kind! Would definitely stay there again.

We spent 3 nights at Rosemary and it was excellent.
The hosts - Marilyn and Alan - were charming and always helpful with advice etc.
The bedroom was well appointed and there were lots of little 'extras' that showed they cared and wanted to make the stay memorable and comfortable.
Everywhere was spotless and the breaklfasts were most enjoyable.
We would highly recommend Rosemary.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th June 2012. We originally tried to book into another B&B that we found via an Isle of Wight website - they were not taking bookings but the lady suggested her friend at Rosemary B&B. I was not aware of this B&B but on reading the website and reviews on Tripadvisor I decided to phone and made the booking. Alan and Marilyn were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room (no 1) was very cosy with lovely bathroom, delicious biscuits in the room and flat screen TV. The bathroom also had toiletries which was a lovely touch. Breakfast was delicious - fresh fruit, cooked breakfast. Alan helped us with bus timetables and maps on our day that we walked along the coast to Ventnor. We didn't get to know the hosts very well as we made the most of our first visit to the Isle of Wight doing sightseeing but would not hesitate to stay again if we were wanting to stay in Shanklin again. We would also recommend this B&B to anyone. It was likely being home from home.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 1 - very cosy.

From the warm welcome when we arrived to the sad goodbyes when we left, we experienced five star treatment from Marilyn and Alan. They paid attention to every detail and offered helpful advice to us as this was our first visit to the Isle of Wight. We occupied the smaller room which was very adequate providing all comforts right down to a clothes brush and DVDs for our use. The lovely breakfasts certainly sustained us. We loved the island and will return again to see Marilyn and Alan and the elusive red squirrels! We discovered Rosemary B&B through the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor and the reality surpassed our expectations. Thank you Marilyn and Alan.
