“Very good place to stay!”
Reviewed 4 October 2011

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel in early September. We had had a bad experience at another local hotel and decided to move. Really glad we did! The staff were absolutely excellent, the rooms were very nice and comfortable (we had to move to another room after 2 nights, since we had turned up without a booking and were lucky to be accommodated at all at this busy time of year). The breakfasts were first class and the service very quick and efficient. If we return to the Isle of Wight, this is where we will stay.

Having returned to the Channel View after a lapse of several years, this wonderful hotel was just as good as ever if not better. From our booking in with the excellent reception staff, to our send off at the end of a fab holiday, every thing was perfect. Our favourite room No 57, with its wonderful views over Shanklin Bay was our home for seven great nights. Dining with its so attentive restaurant staff, and beautifully prepared food by the team of chefs was superb. The Gino family and its great team, should be congratulated in the way this hotel is run.Hope Gill is recovering well from her operation Best wishes to her and everyone at this exceptional hotel, which my wife and I would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Room Tip: All rooms are really nice, with the Premier Plus rooms facing the sea the best. For the less mobile...

I stayed for four nights in August and was very impressed with how well this hotel is run, in particular the restaurant. Not usually a "half-board" type of person, the whole dining experience was a very pleasurable surprise. Having specific dietary requirements (I am a vegan) did not phase the chef or restaurant manager at all and they excelled on providing delicious alternatives to the regular menu. The dining room is run very efficiently with fantastic, friendly and helpful service and really was quite faultless. In my opinion they really do "go the extra mile". Well done Channel View!

First visit to I O W could have not chosen a better hotel. Rooms very clean and comfortable plenty of tea/coffee. All the staff very friendly and all seemed to take pride in their jobs. The food was all local produce cooked to a very high standard, always hot (not a chip in sight) which was a refreshing change. All meals waitress service and how efficient never having to wait more than a few minuetes. Lovely swimming pool, small but water very warm. Could not fault this hotel would return.

Room was very clean. Their hotel information explains it is family owned with long standing staff, this was evident by the good service we recieved. Would return here when back on I.o.W.

We decided on a last minute two night trip to the Isle of Wight with 6 year old grand-daughter. Very helpful when booking and even arranged our ferry crossing. Large family room with small double and a single bed. All the amenities you would expect, ensuite, coffee making facilities and hair dryer. Bit like going back in time to the 1960s. Meals were adequate and it seemed that the order was taken through one door and came out of the other within seconds.
Very clean throughout. Would definitely go again with grand-daughter but would prefer room NOT on the ground floor as we didn't feel happy leaving a window open. Small indoor swimming pool which made our grand-daughter's day. Am thinking of taking my elderly mother who is on sticks but although there was a ramp into the hotel I think it might be a problem getting to the reception and dining room as there seemed to be steps everywhere. However I didn't look into this so they may have a cunning plan.

Room Tip: the higher up the better view
