My husband and myself have just spent a wonderful break made even better by our choice of hotel. The room , staff ,food and cleanliness surpassed all expectations. The booking was easy including our ferry and nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff from management level down. They only thing they couldnt arrange was the weather that didnt matter much as our room and views were pleasant enough to want to sit in . If you look at the video's on the hotel website everything is exactly as shown no different at all.We are allready looking at dates for 2011.

We have just enjoyed a lovely long weekend at this hotel. We arrived 10 minutes before dinner finished, and were told not to worry, the restaurant would be told we were here. The booking for b&b had free upgrade to half board, and to be honest, I thought the food would not be up to much, how wrong we were! The food is varied and of a very good standard. Full 3 course meal followed by coffee and mints. Our room was overlooking the sea, and was a good size, and had a full bathroom, all was exceptionally clean. There is a bar, and seating to listen to entertainment, and dance if you like. The weather was good and there are a number of benches outside to seat and read, or have a cup of tea. Overall, we had a great relaxing time, and would love to go back again. Thankyou to all the staff for their hard work, and friendly service

This hotel goes back in time and I don't mean that in any way as a negative comment. The service is very good indeed from the time you arrive to when you leave and that is a rare thing these days- good old fashioned service. Our room was on the top floor- huge room with 3 windows a double bed- and two singles and the most lovely view of Shanklin's beach & beyond! The room was comfortable and extremely clean, one of the most cleanest hotels we have ever stayed in...just a couple of little niggles -the bed could a bit bigger and softer. a couple of arm chairs to enjoy the view would have been nice and the water pressure in the shower could have been better apart from that no complaints - the staff are lovely very helpful, whoever manages them- runs a tight ship-excellent. The dinnng room is nice & spacious-nice decor- middle tables could do with not being so close together though. The food is nice-plentiful - the hotel is in a good location- very near beach- just down the hill- and it looks well looked after- nice beach and within walking distance to town. It had been 35 years since I had last been to the IOW- &if there are places like Channel View to stay in -it won't be another 35 years. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel- it is extremely clean and well looked after and the staff do all they can for you.

Stayed here for a weeks holiday and chose this hotel based on location and the fact it has ample car parking, we weren't dissapointed. Arrived late morning due to ferry times and informed reception we were here, expecting to have to go and explore for a few hours whilst our rooms were sorted, instead we were told we were able to book straight in if we wanted and were shown to our rooms by the very friendly receptionist. Had booked a basic single room and a twin with side sea view, normally I would expect a basic room to be the size of a broom cupboard overlooking the back of the hotel next door, and to have to crane your neck to see the sea in a side view room, not so on this occasion, the single turned out to be a very roomy twin room on the top floor with lovely views over towards the town centre, whilst the sea view in the second room was fantastic and my mum spent many a happy hour sat in her room before dinner watching the ships sail past . Was equally impressed with the dining room, was very nice and spacious and we were lucky enough to get a window table, again with lovely views out to sea. The food was very nice and plentiful and the staff were very friendly and efficient and we went to bed with bellies full to bursting every night. Overall a brilliant hotel, prime location, very clean, excellent food and very friendly helpful staff , would not hesitate to rebook here the next time we visit.

Chose this hotel after reading reviews on TripAdvisor, and so pleased we did so. From the moment we arrived at reception we were made to feel welcome and were escorted to our room. As we found out during the week, this was not the biggest one in the hotel, but was more than adequate for our needs. The room was spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom, where we were delighted to find carpet, and praise be, soft toilet paper like you would use at home. A quick tour of the hotel confirmed that cleanliness is a byword,
The dining room was very weel laid out, not at all cramped like some we have come across. Again all the staff seemed very friendly, and the service could not be faulted. If we asked for a small delay between courses this was no problem, and we were asked from time to time when we were ready to continue. The food was absolutely superb, being a meat eater I was more than happy with the portions provided. My wife even suggested to our waitress that the chef provide her with slightly less meat, but he did not seem to want to, luck y for me. The bar was well stocked, service quick and friendly. The swimming pool, like the rest of the hotel, was spotless. All the staff were more than happy to have a chat about the hotel or advise on things to do. There really was nothing I could find to complain about, and this is the first hotel I have been able to that about. Congratulations to everyone, and we will certainly be returning. Pat & Gill

My Wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and really cannot say a bad word about it.
The Staff where friendly and very helpful the Hotel was spotlessly clean and the food was good quality and plentiful.
We would highly recommend this hotel and will defiantly return.
Top marks to all at The Channel View Hotel.
