A nice, comfortable hotel, with an excellent restaurant, a friendly bar, good rooms, {ours had a sea view} and we would recommend Victoria Lodge as really good value for money, and also nice and quiet, yet centrally located. We would stay there again on any future visits to I of W.

Staying at this hotel is staying in a homelike atmosphere.Sallyann and Peter not only give you their personal attention, they cook excellent meals as well. The hotel and rooms are very clean, from the lounche you have a nice overvieuw of the (cruise) ships travelling the Channel. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. The nearness of the City Center ,beach and Chine could not be better. The Islands' discovery brought us to a lot of interesting points.Especially the many (marked) walking-paths,the beauty of its nature and the friendly people make this Island worthwhile. We ,ourselves come from the Netherlands, which is quite trip to get to here, but don't hesitate the trip is certainly worthwhile!

I've made several trips to Victoria Lodge over the past couple of years, sometimes alone and sometimes with friends. I was made to feel welcome and at ease on my first visit, and that's important when travelling alone as I was that time. If you're looking to be looked after in a relaxed environment, without standing on ceremony, this is the place to be. Shanklin is a good place to explore the Isle of Wight from, and VLH is ideal to explore Shanklin from, being close to the Old Village, normal shops, cliff path and beach. Breakfast is great and is served with views of Sandown Bay and Culver Down. Evening meal is always popular, or if like me you prefer variety there are lots of pubs and restaurants within easy reach, and the quiet hotel bar is open for when you get back.

From our day of arrival we were made to feel very welcome. Peter, Sallyann and the other members of staff were very friendly and had a good knowledge of the island and local tourist spots. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and close to the beach and local shops. The food was delicious and the menu had several choices.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone and hope to stay here again on my next visit to the I.O.W.

The Victoria Lodge is just a few minutes from the beach and shops. The location is perfect if you want to get around without using your car - a real relaxing holiday. The accomodation is spacious and kept extremely clean. Some rooms overlook the sea. There is a wide choice for breakfast and evening meal with dietary requirements catered for if you ask. Couldn't fault the hotel. Sallyann and Peter are very welcoming and can't do enough for you. I would recommend this hotel and would come again and again.
