This is a small basic hotel / Inn but that's ok because they are competitively priced. Highlight of the visit was the quality of the food served in the evenings.
Breakfasts were less impressive, but average or slightly better, than I have experienced elsewhere. Squeezed orange juice was a nice touch at this price band.

This was our second weekend stay and we'll be back!

Lovely room (this time the Darwin Suite - 2 adjoining rooms as a family suite) last time the wonderful room 14 (large double) all with the lovely sea view. Very competitively priced - great for us as it makes it very affordable.

The new owners are doing it up gradually and are very helpful and friendly - trying to make a place people return to.

Huge breakfasts and the meals served at the bar are also huge. Good value.

Parking is limited but there is a nearby car park. Access to beach is easy and loads to do here - we didn't move all weekend!

First time visit to IOW and chose Shankilin as a base for my trip. Found the The Waterfront Inn on the internet and it offered an ideal location right next to the beach. Found out after booking that new owners had taken over the Waterfront inn at the beginning of June and I was delighted with Catherine and David the new owners. They were extremely friendly and hospitable and made our stay very welcoming and Catherine even washed my brothers jeans and shorts for him as his toiletries had leaked in his case !!! We even extended our stay by 2 days and hadn't even seen our rooms when we arrived. My room was at the back and it was lovely and quiet, the rooms at the front have stunning views and are competitively priced. Thoroughly good value for money and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was excellent and served indoors or out whichever you required. New ladies toilets were being built during our stay but this wasn't a problem as we were out during the day and I hardly noticed. A great place to stay and I wouldn't hesitate in going back there. If you want a beach on your doorstep with stunning sea views, a stroll down the promenade an open top bus service during the day right outside or even the road train to take you to the old village or a leisurely walk then this is for you. On the weekends it can get quite busy with day trippers but the IOW has so much to offer and this is an ideal place to stay....a big thank you to Catherine and David

With the front of house rooms looking out over the beach this is an ideal place for a few days at the seaside. Well presented rooms above this very popular restaurant / bar with its movie theme and life size statues. The car parking is very limited on site, but plenty of parking on the beach side of the road or in the big car park only a few seconds walk away.
Breakfast was good as was the food served in the place during the evening, on busy nights BOOK A TABLE or you will miss out. A short (uphill) stroll takes you into old Shanklin where you can find more pubs/restaurants to cater for all tastes. Owners could maybe do with taking a careful look around more often, we had a light that did not work and the bathroom door handle was not fitted, but overall pleasant place to stay with VERY welcoming and helpful staff/owners.
