“Great family long weekend!”
Reviewed 29 April 2013 via mobile

We stayed Saturday to Monday. Friendly, helpful staff. Loved the swimming pool and hot tub. Rooms clean and well equipped. We enjoyed the pool table and table tennis plus all the games available for the kids in the games room. Beautiful breakfast views over the sea and adventurous but well kept garden. Trampoline gets 5 stars from the kids!

Just had a three day break and as we were treating sister & hubby wanted somewhere really nice. On arrival staff were extremely friendly and helpful, had a drink in sunroom and wow what a view. Were very disappointed with rooms so negotiated an upgrade to rooms with sea views. Rooms although they were a bit lacking in style were clean and beds comfortable and once again the view was wonderful. Dinner was OK but breakfast much better with fresh fruit, yogurts and an excellent choice from the menu. Because of the time of year the gardens didn't look their best but I imagine in late spring and summer it would be spectacular with the sea shining beyond .This hotel does seem a little tired in some areas and is a traditional style not boutique but we would all most definitely return for another visit. It is within walking distance of the old town and the beach and cliff path. If you do go make sure you visit the next village called Godshill and go to The Taverners Pub, its very rustic and warm with fabulous food. JoJo Shropshire.

Room Tip: It is worth negotiating an upgrade to a sea view room, we were given 12 and 14 originally and these...

We booked this hotel using a Groupon voucher and stayed in a sea view room which was lovely.
The staff were all friendly and the breakfast was nice too.
We didnt bother with the pool so cant comment on that and the outdoor pool isn't in use till May.
The room and bathroom was clean along with the rest of the hotel.
Overall a lovely stay and we intend to return again soon.

Room Tip: The room with a sea view is lovely

Sea view room, but very tired decor, poor layout, no frills and had an odd smell. Food was very poor, plain and cold. Didn't fancy trying the pool. Did not look inviting. Staff were friendly but hotel fell way below all expectations particularly considering the prices charged.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel!

We stayed in a room with a gorgeous Sea view but that's the only good thing .... Dirty Bathroom with dust and Hair on the floor . Never used whirl pool bath as the vents had all muck in them and the Toilet was disgusting ! The Hot tubs had all scum over the water ( health & safety would have a fit ) . The squash court was a joke and the walls were badly damaged and plaster was all over the floor and never cleaned up . Basket ball hoop broken and just hanging . Over sized Chess set in garden broken and lying around . Food was terrible , evening meal was a joke .... Chicken supreme .... Grey chicken breast with a tin of soup on top .... The end !! Please don't put your selves through it . So disappointing ,; they didn't even reply to my questionaire I filled in .

Very pleasant staff and clean rooms but a bit old fashioned. Food not really up to scratch. Room was at the top of the hotel with a narrow stairway to negotiate which was quite difficult with luggage etc. Situation on the cliff top with sea views was very nice and a short walk into the old town where there were plenty of descent restaurants and friendly pubs.

Room Tip: first floor.

A warm welcome greeted my daughter and myself when we arrived for our spa weekend. The hotel has lots of lovey original features. It was early in the season so still quiet. The room was fine and we had a partial sea view. Lovely to have a pool and hot tub in the basement. Lots of play areas too eg table tennis etc. The evening meal we had sunday eve was excellent. Good value for money and a wonderful location right over looking the sea

Room Tip: Worth paying for a sea view
