We have had a swift two night break to the lovely Isle of Wight our 2nd visit this year. Our 1st night was spent in a family room at a YHA and our 2nd night was to be spent at this beautiful hotel. I have seen it many times on my search for accommodation on the island and always wanted to stay. It has a stunning view, beautiful grounds which resemble something out of Alice in wonderland, friendly helpful staff and good facilities. When I was trying to book a room, I wasn't sure if I was booking Luccombe Hall or Luccombe Manor but it would not have mattered as they are sisters and are side by side! This is the 1st hotel that I have stayed in here in England where we have had the choice of 3 pools. Yes it is at the very top end of our price range and yes I could be picky and point out the odd thing but I won't because my 9 year old said it was the best hotel ever and he enjoyed every minute, so it was worth every penny and we are looking forward to a chance of staying again in the future.

Room Tip: I would recommend paying extra for the sea view room as you should not miss out on the view if you s...

Lovely family run hotel, set in stunning gardens. Just back after a short break. A great location with numerous facilities for both families and adults. Just a short stroll from Shanklin town and the beach front with many eateries and shops

We booked two rooms in late July for ourselves (room 2, an executive room) and our daughter, son in law and two grandchildren (room 8, a family room). Our first impression on arriving was the warm welcome, we were shown round by the friendly and efficient receptionist. We then went to our rooms - they were superb! Ours had the most amazing view, a roomy balcony with lounging chairs and sun loungers, the room was large with kingsize four poster bed, and large bathroom with jacuzzi and shower.
Our family were in the family room which had a large double bed, a full. Size single bed, and a bunk bed which was full single bed size. The ceiling was high so the bunk bed did not feel claustrophobic.
The bedrooms were clean and comfortable.
Dinner comprised a choice of about 5 starters - I always found it hard to choose because there were at least two or three I liked the look of, and a similar number of mains. Deserts were good with a very good option of the cheese board. There were always at least two vegetarian options. We all liked the food, and thought it was good. We drank the house white (Sauvignon Blanc) or house red which were good at £14.95 per bottle.
Breakfast was outstanding (although the chef struggled to provide soft boiled eggs!) with fresh fruit, fruit juices, self service toast, full English, continental, smoked haddock.
The hotel has an indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi, a beautiful outdoor pool with umbrellas and loungers, another swimming pool in their next door sister hotel also with a hot jacuzzi. Our family enjoyed them all.
The gardens go on for ever and are beautiful. There is a lovely tea house in the gardens.
We enjoyed it so much we managed to extend our stay by a day, and are already arranging a booking for next year.
In all our contact with the staff we were impressed by their friendliness and clear desire to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Thank you Cathy, Clare, and the waiting staff - you did a great job!
This hotel suited us perfectly and we had a great holiday.

Stayed for a weekend in August. Large double room, great facilities (for families and adults), very friendly and welcoming staff and beautiful cliff top gardens to relax in and watch the ships sail by.

Stayed here in May with the Mrs and our 7 year old. Mum and dad also came out to join us. Lovely old building and we were given a warm greeting. Good breakfast and the deal we booked included an evening meal which again was pretty good. This is centrally located in Shanklin so you are well placed to explore the island. We were in a family room which was airy and clean with a modern bathroom including a spa bath which the ladies appreciated. Hotel has a pool but curiously no gym. Lovely gardens with play stuff for kids and an interesting walk down to the beach. Fantastic view from the restaurant over the water as well.

I'd feel confident booking and staying here again. Not massively fancy but honest, clean and on a deal including breakfast and a dinner (. 2 night stay) proper good value.

We found this hotel very good, rooms very clear, housekeeping was great and no problem with parking. Location was one of it's best features. All staff very friendly. Restaurant isn't top notch but then neither was the price. Breakfast was sometimes slow and the buffet table wasn't always well stocked throughout service but you only had to ask. We had a room with a sea view and slept with all the windows open which wasn't a problem, no noise. The outdoor pool was fantastic and the sunbeds and shades were much used during our stay.

Room Tip: Sea View rooms fantastic, executive rooms with outside balcony facing the sea

We have stayed at Luccombe Hall Hotel for three consecutive years and hope to return next year. Our 11 year old Son loves the indoor pool and we appreciate the stunning views and beautiful garden. The staff work extremely hard to make sure guests are looked after to a very high standard. On arrival Tim was very professional, efficient and welcoming. The sea view from the bedroom was so relaxing and the housekeeping of bedrooms was excellent on a daily basis. For the three of us our highlight will always be the time we eat, drink and relax in the Restaurant. We could not fault the breakfast and Dinner. There is a wide range of choice to suit all tastes. Above all though the three Waiters Jack, Sam and James were so charismatic and despite being very busy would give all guests their time and personal attention. They were willing to engage and their friendly and patient service was outstanding. Dave who manages the Bar offers a very high standard of service and his fantastic personality and interpersonal skills ensure all guests young and old are well looked after. Thank you so much to you all.

Room Tip: Sea view Rooms will always be the best experience!
