We have just returned from a short break at The Shoreside Inn and had such a good time we did not want to come home. Andy and Jo are perfect hosts and again nothing was too much trouble and they even arranged perfect weather so that on two mornings we were able to eat outside on the patio area. Our room was spacious and has lots of little extra touches that make it a pleasure to stay there, jelly-beans being my husbands favourite! Jo prepares the best breakfast on the Island and you should not leave without sampling one of her freshly baked Danish pastries. You may also be lucky enough to be entertained by The Great Andini who sometimes makes guest appearances with his special magic tricks. This is really the best place to stay with the sound of the waves lapping on the shore, excellent hosts, beautiful rooms, with extra special quilts and bedding, and an unrivalled breakfast. We have already booked to go back and are counting down the days. PERFECT!

Room Tip: They are all perfect

The location is very peaceful and picturesque opposite the beach but very accessible up-hill close to Shanklin centre (within 10 minutes walk)
Alternatively left out of Shoreside is an easy enjoyable walk into Sandown either along the promenade or a little bit more challenging higher up alongside the cliff.
Despite the colder than average weather it was obvious the optional outside seating area where breakfast could be taken is a sun trap.
Talking of breakfast, the vegetarian option was very tasty, we wouldn’t normally eat a cooked breakfast every day during our holiday but it was too good to miss and now back home we are missing it.
Our room was spacious, homely in a good way and very clean, with the little touches that make a difference and normally get missed such as flannels, a good tea assortment including decaf, plenty of bubble bath and bottled water.
The bathroom was a delight for leisurely bath lovers with a fantastic view out to sea, alternatively if you want to wash and go there was also a shower.
Jo and Andy provided a friendly personal service where nothing was too much trouble but also wasn’t overbearing
It was obvious that they really enjoyed running Shoreside which is probably why nothing could be faulted.
It takes me ages to choose the perfect place to stay and this didn’t disappoint.

Needing a short break we went to where we've been before. As usual Andy and Jo delivered. Our top floor Sea View room was perfect - the small touches always makes a difference (Jelly Beans!) .
The welcome and hospitality from Jo and Andy is always warm and second to none. Their flexibility means that you feel like it is a tailor made break. Breakfast will really set you up for the day - leave a little room for a fresh baked pastry at the end!
The rooms we have stayed in have been decorated to a high standard and had spacious on-suite showers.
Andy and Jo have worked hard to get the Shoreside Inn to where they want it to be and for us it is perfect. Andy and Jo are not only great hosts but have become great friends. We will return!!

Room Tip: Rooms are all well appointed. Sea view rooms are worth the extra.

Three nights was too short a stay at the superbly appointed Shoreside Inn.
All the rooms are decorated and equipped to a very high standard.
You get such a welcome from Andy and Jo and nothing is too much trouble.
We enjoyed the room, more like an apartment, on the top floor with balcony.
We are rather tired of staying in UK hotels where there is little, or no, flexibility on breakfast time. At the Shoreside this was no problem as Andy & Jo provided breakfast early on one morning and later on the other two. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order with coffee on demand.
The room rates reflect the quality of the experience at the Shoreside.
Car parking is usually a problem on Shanklin seafront but not when staying at the Shoreside.
Would we return? Yes, definately.

Room Tip: Telephone and have Andy describe available rooms.

We've visited The Shoreside many times now; sometimes just for a drink and chat with Jo & Andy when we're passing by, and other times we've been fortunate enough to experience their full hospitality with a 'stay-over' ...... all of which is always a lovely way to spend our time! Trouble is, we've begun to take the consistent good service and special 'little touches' for granted, so thought it was about time that we finally wrote a review - to make it 'real'!! Well done Jojo and Andini - you never disappoint - keep up the good work this summer too ;)

Room Tip: Top floor front rooms are our favourite - get the maximum view from the balconies!

We can highly recommend the Shoreside Inn, Andy & Jo made us feel more than welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was lovely, it was overlooking the seafront. A very nice choice of breakfast, and jo's home made Danish pastries were delicious. It was a very cold Easter break but our hotel room was very warm and cosy. Thank you both for a fantastic stay, we will definately be returning.

In spite of it being the coldest Easter in living memory we had an amazing stay at Shoreside and indeed the Isle of Wight. We were warmly greeted by Andy and Jo and shown to our lovely room which was the Orchard room (suite 1). It has very cool sea views and is a large room with a lovely comfy warm bed, more importantly though it has a bath with a sea view, deep, hot and very decadent! We spent lots of time walking and exploring so after a long hard cold day this was a real treat. Our hosts Andy and Jo were lovely warm and welcoming and put themselves out for us by accommodating our unusual diet needs and Andy even provided us with his own DVD. This was so we could get stuck into the new series of “Game of Thrones” on long chilly evenings. We B&B a lot and both agreed these guys were the nicest and most genuine folk we have come across in this trade – we would rarely revisit a place or a B&B mainly because there is so much world to see but we would definitely put this one back on the list. After only a couple of days we felt like had made new mates and can’t wait to go back to teach Andy another trick!
The hotel itself is newly refurbished and nicely done and would be very appropriate for young professional types /young families wanting to avoid the blue rinse brigade – sorry no offence Nan :)
Sadly we can’t comment on breakfast as we didn’t partake due to the diet but it looked great and next time we will definitely get stuck in.
If it’s of any further interest we visited the Theatre in town to see “The Sound of Music” not really our thing but it was really really good & boy those guys can sing!!! The Chine was a bit dull but expect in full summer it would be nicer (but really busy!) Our best walks were the fossil beach at Brook along the coast by Brighstone, we did a guided walk (Island Gems) to see the dinosaur prints but you could manage it on your own with a bit of a map – The walk from the Hotel along the beach to Sandown was lovely (best crazy golf on the pier there) and my fave was Carisbrooke Castle where they have working donkeys that turn the water wheel – this was my Donkey fix as sadly the sanctuary on the island is now shut :( Osborne house was a real treat and is a wholly untouched bit of V&A history – The Needles are an iconic I.O.W landmark so probably a must but they seem to have really capitalised on this with the whole touristy bit! loved all the little thatched cottages and hope we will be back one day soon………when its warmer!!!!!!
