Top marks. Ploughmans and crab sandwiches were generous in proportion. Very tasty with the many pickles provided. One of the few establishments I'd like to visit again.

“Old fashioned tea garden”
Reviewed 18 August 2013

This little gem tucked away in a park is wonderful. A crazy golf course is set out in the centre, with a variety of seating around the edges, surrounded by some lovely plants. A wide choice of food and drink is available (until early evening in the summer), and a large selection of home-made cakes. The meals are excellent value for money, with jacket potatoes being served with a large accompaniment of salad, coleslaw, French bread, etc. The crazy gold makes for excellent entertainment whilst eating, although beware sitting near hole 18! Tables are also available in the park, along with deckchairs for sunbathing, and listening to the regular band performances.

“Rylstone Gardens Tea Room - a hidden gem”
Reviewed 26 July 2013

Found this place in 2009 whilst on holiday and it was top of the "must return to" list after booking a return visit to the Isle of Wight this year, 2013.

The setting is just lovely - lots of tables and chairs surrounding a really cute looking crazy golf course, all in amongst the most amazing number of colourful hanging baskets and pots.

If that's not enough, wait until you get the food! Make sure you have a good appetite if you order a salad!! Thought the bowls were never going to stop arriving!!! The table was full of the main salad plus all the extras they send out to you. Nothing ostentatious about their food - just first class homecooked/home prepared food presented really, really well.

Excellent value for money and the service is excellent too.

“My perfect garden tea rooms”
Reviewed 30 March 2013

I love going to Rhylstone Gardens Tea Room. I always feel so relaxed. The staff are amazing and always have a smile and a cheery chat for everyone. The food is always such good value and beautifully presented. You NEVER feel rushed. It is good fun watching young and old playing the old fashioned wooden crazy golf course. We even saw one group of holiday makers giving out medals and certificates for the winners of their golf game, It did bring smiles to our faces. The hanging baskets are so amazing. The elderly man and lady who attends to the flowers are on the go all day, but never too busy to stop and chat and to pass on tips on growing or to answer gardening questions. I must add.....I'm not sure if it is because we are drinking our tea outside in such wonderful suroundings but...IT'S THE BEST POT OF TEA ON THE ISLAND. If you do have the time to visit I know that you will LOVE it there.

We love the quirky old, times past, wooden crazy golf, the hanging baskets and floral displays. Who wouldn't enjoy their coffee or lunch in such surroundings.
