Reviewed 30 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We stayed at The Albury for 2 nights in July. We did not book, just knocked on the door, and luckily for us Elaine had a vacancy for the 2 nights needed. Elaine was welcoming from the first word, and as the previous guest had only just departed she had the room ready for us within the hour. When we returned the room was all ready, spotlessly clean, fresh and cosy. We had the room upstairs at the front. Every detail has been looked after, even the cups and saucers and teapot were different to most places, spoons had little cupcakes on then tips. No packet biscuits but fresh yummy ones in a small biscuit caddy, and fresh milk in a milk jug. The cottage is well situated. A short walk to the beach in one direction and a small walk to Old Shanklin in the other direction. Plenty of choices of restaurants and pubs to go to. Even though there is no designated parking there was no problem finding a spot for the car, usually just outside or maybe 2 houses away, not a problem at all. The sitting area downstairs, is just beautiful and this is where you also have your breakfast. The breakfast is excellent and presented beautifully. Choice of full English or Continental.(muffins and croissants on a lovely cake stand)Even the morning paper for you to read. We were 8 weeks into a 10 week holiday and have stopped at some lovely places but Elaine does those little extras that make a difference. I would highly recommend her Beautiful B n B. Just a small note, she is so, so reasonably priced!!!!

We have just come back from a long weekend in The Albury Cottage Shanklin. We traveled with our 2 year old son. The cottage is lovely with everything you could need.

The town and the beach are walking distance and you have your very own parking space.

Elaine is very helpful and provided us with so many things to do which kept us very busy. Also a lovely hamper with yummy food and drink.

Lovely cottage in a great location. The owner couldn't have been more helpful & provided a travel cot & high chair at short notice. The cottage is lovely & spacious and the bedrooms very comfortable, I'd definitely recommend it as a great place to stay & will be going back! A great base from which to explore the island.

“Lovely seaside cottage in a lovely seaside town”
Reviewed 7 May 2013 for a stay in May 2013

We recently enjoyed 3 nights at The Albury Cottage - a self-catering cottage next door to a Bed and Breakfast. This is a very pretty cottage with lovely decor. The rooms are light and bright and nicely decorated. The owner who runs the B & B next door is very welcoming and was willing to go above and beyond to make us feel welcome, including providing a thoughtful welcome pack of foods on our arrival. It was the ideal base for our families visit to the Isle. Walk five minutes down the road and there are beautiful views then a walk or lift ride down to the sandy Hope Beach. Along the waterfront are a number of attractions perfect for families and we enjoyed a game of Crazy golf and some other activities at Pirate Cove. Walk a little further and there is another beach, Small Hope Beach. Not far away is Shanklin Old Town and the Shanklin Chine, again very picturesque. We also really enjoyed The Model Village in Godshill, the Needles and the waterfront in Cowes. Highly recommend a visit to the Isle of Wight and the accommodation at The Albury.

“Great Place”
Reviewed 23 April 2013 for a stay in February 2013

Had a girly weekend in Feb for a Birthday, we all stayed in the Cottage self catering.
The place was very clean tidy with all the mod cons.
The owner met us and explained all we need to know about the cottage and the Island.
It is 2 minutes from the main street with shops/ pubs and lots of food places, also near the bus rout to get all over the Island. Plus 2 minutes down the street the other way is the beach.
I am taking my grandchildren there in the summer plus may fit in a few more weekends
Would recommend this place for all
