“Excellent holiday base”
Reviewed 15 September 2012

Situated in a quiet location, a short walk from the shops and places to eat, Foxhills gets particular praise for its host, James, who is keen to welcome you in on arrival, and is very amenable at breakfast time, without being too overbearing. A perfect host.
The rooms are great, with en suite, and very clean, with all the usual amenities you would expect. We also had use of the spa which was an excellent place to unwind and is included in the price.
The only things we noticed were that the shower was weak, and parking out the front is very tight (and I mean tight!) so it will test your reversing skills.
Overall, a very enjoyable stay here, and the biggest compliment we can give it is that we always looked forward to returning to it at the end of the day.

Guest house recommended to us and not disappointed. Comfy beds, spotless room and en suite. Room service no extra charge, bonus spa, great breakfast and nothing too much trouble for host James. Our party mixed ages, we were also able to hire a mobility scooter locally so we could all enjoy the location, village and beach.

Everything from the gorgeous building down to the helpfulness n friendlynes of the b&b's owners was perfect. You are always made to feel welcome and valued in foxhills, and little details like James (the owner) remembering everyone's names was really nice. They supply free room service and free use of the spa/hot tub which we really enjoyed. James/Paula were always on hand to help, even when we were having car trouble In the evening. We will deffinately be returning to foxhills next year to enjoy their lovely setting, beautiful and clean rooms, comphy beds and amazing home made breakfasts (which they have won many awards for) each moring. I honestly can not find a single falt with foxhills, which is not like me ! I highly recommend this place, my husband and I stayed there for 4 days on our honeymoon and even received a free gift of champagne from James and paula. The litte touches really help make foxhills so brilliant and well worth their awarded 5 star rating.

Myself and my husband stayed at Foxhills for a three night stay and had a wonderful time. We were greeted by James who was very friendly and welcoming and always used our first names when speaking to us. We stayed in the Carrisbrooke room which was lovely and spacious, and exceptionally clean. Breakfasts were delicious. The hotel is also in a very good location for exploring Shankling, being very close to the town, the beach front and the old village. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Foxhills and would definitely return in the future.

everywhere was spotless and james was the perfect host.
the breakfast was everything you could ever want to eat.
the towels were top quality white and fluffy
theres a lovely if a little over grown garden for those peacefull moments and sunny for reading knitting etc. or just being.
we had a massage each and it was very nice.
we used the spa and it was hot and private thoroughly enjoyed it.
if we go again ill be sure to book the four poster!
the down side for me being partially disabled was the wc was so close to the shower unit it didnt leave much elbo room and no bath.

Room Tip: if your staying more than one or two nights book the bedrooms upstairs.not all rooms have a bath

What can I say, this place is amazing. We stayed in the Carrisbrooke room which had the biggest bed I have ever seen. The place is immaculatey clean aswell.
Paula and James can't do enough for you, including great packs in the rooms which tell you all you need to know about the island and fabulous walks. It is about 5 mins from all the restaurants and shops which mean't we didn't have to use taxis all the time.
Helen gave me a great massage which we followed up with a session in the whirlpool spa, you can use this in private and it is free.
We stayed 7 nights so we decided to stay in a couple of nights to watch the olympics. We had room service and the food was fabulous as was the amazing breakfast.
Can't thank you enough for a wonderfull holiday. We will be back.

Excellent establishment with 1st class service. Had a 4 day break in July and could not fault the accomodation and attention to detail provided by the owners. The breakfasts are amazing and are a spur for getting out of bed in the morning! Try the Black Pudding stack. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to be near to the centre of Shanklin but still in a quiet residential area.
