We stayed at the Holliers Hotel for a weekend using Just Go Holidays. Coach travel and driver excellent. Our room was 28 that did not have much natural light in it as view from window was 2 walls, bathroom was shabby and would have been better if the bath was taken out and a shower put in. After the first night did ask to change rooms but none were available, as it was for 3 nights we stuck it out but would not have liked a week in this room. Food ok select the carvery's as the alternative meals are not so good. Noticed after the last breakfast waitress's seemed to be making a fuss of certain couples, not sure if they had been there before but looked like they were looking for a tip. If you want an early night ask for a quiet room as we could here music from our room. I of W a lovely place to visit but don't think we would return to this hotel. I've never been asked to use hand wash before going into a hotel in case of germs but I suppose it is a good idea.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room if you like an early night

stay at the holliers for the first time and found it a very good hotel, food was very good and plenty of it and it was allways hot with a good choice, the staff are very friendly and helpfull, and steve and dawn the owners where allways on hand to help out, the one fault we had was we where stuck in room number 7 which was like the hole in wall and over looked the kitchen vent pipes but it was some where to lay your head at night, we would highly recommend this hotel and will be going back, so if you stay say hi to stave and dawn and al the staff and enjoy your stay

We paid £150.00 for a 2 night break including Ferry travel, which we booked through Red Fuinnel.
This hotel is primarily used by coach companies and caters for a certain age group. The hotel's position is situated in the middle of Shanklin Old Village, which is very pretty. On our arrival we were greeted by the proprietor who seemed very pleasant. Our room was fine, spacious, clean and with a good size bathroom - however their are no complimentary toiletries so bring your own. There is TV in the rooms, but the TV's are tiny portable ones, which are not digital, so you can only get 4 channels, which doesn't matter, but the TV size was far too small for the size of room. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom furniture was a bit dated (think 1980's MFI).
Breakfast was a help yourself buffet, a reasonable selection but basically no variations other than an a "full english". No scrambled egg offered on 2nd day - although there was on the first, so bit confused about that. Toast was the horrible bog standard soggy cardboard that doesn't stay warm. Service was a bit hit and miss, and the female serving (whose name I didn't catch) although polite was rather vague and didn't smile once. We didn't use the carvery as there are lots of different eating places in and around Shanklin (try the Village Inn next to the Hotel - good food).

Piano Bar was dark and dreary and the entertainment was bog standard holiday hotel stuff, but barman was pleasant.

The hotel is quiet and although we won't go again, it's perfectly Ok for what it is.

we arrived at the holliers hotel on sunday 14/4/13 for a night's stay.
we found the room to be very clean and well equiped with all the facilities expected.
The restaurant is very large overlooking the gardens.
The food is very good with carvery being served nearly every night.
The hotel is located in the town centre near all the shops, theater, pubs, and restaurants. The beach is only few minutes away.
The entertainment at night was very good provider by the goodtimes vocal duo.
we will certainly go there again next time we visit shaklin in isle of wight.
