Have just returned from a special 60's weekend at the Shanklin Hotel in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight. Regularly visit the Island but have never stayed here before, I think one can often be cautious of large hotels especially if they regularly take coaches. However not here, I can not fault this stay, everything was first class, and incredible value for money when you consider the quality of the accomodation (we had a very large twin bedded room) the great choice/ amount of breakfast buffet and the excellent evening meal. And to top it all the special guest entertainment, "Elvis" and the Upbeat Beatles on 2 of the three night stay was top class. Even small things like biscuits every day in the room was a nice surprise touch (so often you get them the first day and then that's it!). The excellent package also included the ferry tickets.
Would not hesitate to stay here again.More
