The Grange is actually better than home because you don't have to cook your own breakfast or make your bed! A very friendly and relaxing place to visit, Jenni on reception really looked after us as did the rest of the staff. The Grange is in a great position just 5 mins from the beach and even less to the Old Village of Shanklin, with it's old world pubs and great food. This is why I suspect the Grange does not do an evening meal, however what they do do is offer, free of charge is tea and coffee all day as well as lovely cakes in the afternoon ( the brownies were worth every calorie!) The grounds are beautiful as well as a deck area and comfy sitting room. What we liked was you could come and go as you pleased, there is an honesty bar, well stocked, including snacks etc. The reception committee is also worth mentioning - Boobie the dog, always came to the gate when we came back, with a wag of his tail. Really enjoyed our stay in this friendly and may I say clean hotel. Would recommend it and as Arnie says we will be back!

There are not enough words to describe how fabulous this hotel is!!! From start to finish the whole experience was fantastic. Jenni especially made us feel so very welcome and special during our stay. All the facilities were first class. The hotel is in a perfect location. You could not stay at a better hotel!!! Thankyou to you all for making it a very special stay. Would without doubt book again!! Thank you. Caryn & Andrew

Room Tip: Our room at the top over looking the sea was just lovely

My boyfriend and I stayed at The Grange on 25/6/12..and what a pleasant experience it was....

It is truly a wonderful hotel, beautiful grounds, excellent facilities with outstanding attention to detail. The staff are lovely and made us feel so welcome (many thanks for your hospitality guys!).

I would highly recommend a stay at The Grange for any occasion and can't wait to return.

We recently stayed at the Grange for 3 nights. Myself, husband and my brother. From the warmest welcome we had ever received to a very fond farewell, I can find no fault with this hotel at all!

The room was immaculate. Bed linen crisp and clean. Complimentary tea, coffe and biscuits in the room. Breakfast piping hot, tasty, and served with an efficient friendly smile.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Nothing was frowned on - not even when my brother spilt a cup of tea on the cream carpet!!

We really will return. Thank you for everyone who made our stay so perfect.

We stayed only one night after a camping trip to the island to have a nice warm and cosy last night after sleeping in a tent before. Besides this, it was the night before my girlfriends birthday, and I wanted her to wake up in a nice room this day :).
After booking I wrote a Mail to the manager to ask her for a little surprise in the morning, like a cupcake with candle, and she immediately replied that they would have a cake for her and asked for the name.
After arriving at the hotel in the afternoon we were warmly welcomed, the room with garden view was nice, homely and clean, the shower strong and warm - everything as expected from the many positive reviews. When we came down for breakfast after a refreshing night and I sneaked into the kitchen to tell the chef that we were the ones supposed to get the cake I was briskly and resolutely dispatched from her realm (they must have earned that 4* AA food hygiene rating for something...) - only to receive a delicious english breakfast afterwards. After serving our plates with fresh scrambled eggs the chef and the hotel manager surprised us with the cake, singing happy birthday on their way to our table. Over all we had a very nice and pleasant stay at the Grange and will happily return for our next stay in Shanklin.

Room Tip: nice garden- and some sea-view from rooms upstairs

As a solo traveler sometimes staying only one night i often get given the disabled room. This was one of these occasion. I stayed in room 2 on the ground floor and I really would not recommend it unless you are disabled it is very awkward especially the bathroom. It seems that the rooms upstairs are much nicer but I haven't seen them.

Breakfast was nice, although here should be more than one person serving.

We stayed at the Grange for a break between Christmas and the New Year. The whole place was extremely nice and homely. Our room was of a nice size and the bed was most comfortable and fresh and a good size. There were some nice little extras that you would expect from a 4 star b & b. The shower room was nice and clean with a power shower. We had lovely views from our room of the gardens and as this was winter we can presume it must be even prettier in the summer time. The whole house was lovely and there were lots of nice artworks around. The Grange gave us a general relaxed feeling. Breakfast was exceptional. Can't forget to mention the very friendly dog who welcomed us when we arrived. We will definitely return to the Grange during the summer.
