Very welcoming and friendly staff. Room very clean. Wonderful Town. Breakfast very good. One of the best I've stayed in on my travels so far. I would recommend it to anyone. Only £40 for the night as well!!

A great guest house near to the beach. My room was comfortable, cosy and clean. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and there were always two tea bags in the tea pot! Perfect.

we have stayed twice in this spotless, freindly, acomodating, hotel & are looking forward to our third time .Which will be in July of this year, the only thing this hotel can,t help with is the weather.
The hearty breakfast sets us up for our island exploring ,& what is better after exploring than a leisurely swim in the lovely heated outdoor pool.
followed by a cream tea beside.
the position of the Havelock is ideal as its within easy distance to the old village, town, and the lovely beach.Very popular need to book well in advance for this special jewel.Thisis where the holiday starts.

We stopped for for 3 nights in may, the weather was really nice and we sun bathed by the pool dipping in and out.

Dave and Ann are really friendly and make you feel welcome, we was in room 22 and the sea view was brilliant, i think it would be best to have a balcony room but book early.its a four minute walk to the old town of Shanklin with pubs and resturants.
We could not believe how good the entertainment was in the pubs and theatre, we watched 'Best of theWest End' at the theatre which was superb then on the friday we had a carvery at Holliers pub (5pm to 8pm) then they had a reggae singer who was great then we popped over to another pub and they had a singer with his guitar.

The breakfasts are really nice with lovely poached eggs and fast efficient service, we went driving around the island but be warned the road sufaces are terrible, it was like we were on safari! Dave said the council has just been awarded a few million to repair the whole island. On the saturday night we had an italian meal at Pavorottis which was good and then watched zoey over the crab pub who is a great singer, so we was really entertained and was all in walking distance from the hotel, it was a great little break for us and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Ann and David own a lovely hotel and run it with the greatest care and attention to their guests. Indeed, they treat you like friends, not simply guests. The rooms are clean and well-decorated, which makes them very welcoming. The Havelock is in an excellent position for the cliff walk to Sandown and the sea views from our room were lovely to wake up to! The staff at the hotel were all very pleasant and hard-working too. My daughter very much enjoyed all the breakfast choices, especially the freshly baked bread and fruit! I happily recommend The Havelock to anyone wanting to visit the IOW and stay in an excellent hotel!

Conveniently located to Shanklin Old Village, yet far enough away from the nightly noise and crowds. Room was cosy but tastefully decorated. Hosts were very accommodating and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was delicious. The grounds and pool looked beautiful but we didn't really have enough time to make the most of them.

Would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Maybe spend extra and get a bigger room.
