Very nice and fresh hotel. Friendly greeting on arrival, quick booking in and shown to our rooms. rooms of high standard and equipped with all requirements. Brilliant shower. Our room didn't have sea view through window but a nice walk out patio with a good view and sun trap. Being with a group it was good to have a large and spacious lounge to meet in. Easy walk to town centre and a cliff top walk with a lift down on to beach, well positioned. Breakfast is to die for, very good selection including scrambled egg on toast with smoked salmon and a full English all with local produce. Brilliant hotel and we are looking forward to returning for another visit a.s.a.p

Room Tip: don't worry all are of good quality and of high standard

After the IOW festival, the Havelock was an oasis of cleanliness, comfort, warm showers, delicious breakfasts cooked fresh to order and a sea view to boot!
Easy to walk to bus stop for transport to and from festival. A few steps away from the sea front to enjoy a promenade or a walk through the old town again before catching the bus to the festival.
Staff extremely welcoming and attentive at all times.
Not only were we delighted with a hearty cooked breakfast but also on offer was delicious, freshly prepared fruits, muselis, yoghurts, juices and fresh breads.
Through double doors from the lounge you could enjoy a few 'rays' on the patio with a pre-festival pint.
Really enjoyed staying here, and we would like to return for a mini break to enjoy more of the IOW.
Thoroughly recomend this hotel.

Room Tip: We had a sea view in room 21

Needing a comfortable retreat to relax inbetween visits to the IOW Festival, the Havelock fitted the bill perfectly. A good location for the beach and town, but also for public transport if you don't want to use your car (plenty of free car parking provided). Breakfast was delicious - a wide choice with croissants, homemade bread and jams along with cereals, fruits, yoghurt and a cooked option. Plentiful and good quality.
All else is as previously described: friendly, helpful, well presented, comfortable beds. It was particularly peaceful and lovely sitting over looking the front garden with the sea view, reading the papers with a cold beer from the bar.
A great place for a short break and perfectly convenient if you want a retreat whilst visiting the IOW Festival, a bus ride away and very peaceful!

Room Tip: Room 14 is a spacious triple room with a sea view and bath/shower room.

A friendly welcome and a very comfortable room with private patio.
The facilities and servicing of the room was faultless as were the staff and the quality of the breakfast.
The pool was a great assett and was enhanced by the warm afternoon sun.

Room Tip: Room 10 not large but a private patio with sea view is lovely.

Clean, nicely decorated room no 10 which has a little patio. Very friendly and helpful staff / owners who want to make sure you have an enjoyable stay on IoW with having lots of tips of things to do / which restaurants etc. It feels like a well operated and efficient hotel operations but has retained its personality.

Well presented and good quality breakfast with lots of options for vegetarian / all English / continental and different type of coffee & tea.

Room Tip: book early - appears to be always full!

I have just come back from a wonderful stay at The Havelock for my 40th birthday with my fiancé and two friends. I had no idea where we were staying but was pleasantly surprised. Our room had a view of the sea and was well decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable and it was an effort leaving it each morning! However the breakfast was a good incentive - a great choice and I am not a lover of breakfasts but I can honestly say I ate more than I ever do for breakfast! The hotel is well located just a short walk from the seafront and in the other direction from Old Shanklin. Dave couldn't have been more welcoming and made us feel at home. The pool was also lovely - it helped having 4 days of superb weather. I wouldn't hesitate returning to The Havelock although next time I would hope we would not be next door to someone banging on the wall at 10.30 because our tv was on!!!

We stayed here between the 3rd and 6th June for our friend's 40th birthday and I can quite honestly say, it was excellent. The outside is very welcoming with a beautifully tended garden and there is plenty of parking. The room (no 22) was decorated in a modern style and had tea making facilities, a tv, plenty of storage space and great sea views. Plus an additional bedroom which amused us no end. I do have to say that the bed was awesome and I slept SO well, I could have brought it home with me!! The owners (Dave and Ann) were really friendly (they even let us chill a bottle of champagne that we brought with us in their fridge, and leant us the glasses to drink it) and were always on hand to answer any queries, serve drinks and hand out towels for use round the pool. The bar was a great place to socialise over a nightcap, and had no end of games to keep everyone amused. The breakfast was first rate and there was plenty of choice for even the most discerning palate (I thought Ann's Lemon, Lime and Clementine marmalade was fabulous and the uncut bread was amazing). The hotel is excellently placed for a trip to the old town (The Crab is quite good for food/drink and there are excellent cream teas and ice creams to be found in this area), or a 10 minute walk down to the sea (be warned, the path is VERY steep!!). If I had to be really picky, there were no biscuits in the rooms, the bath towels could have been a bit bigger and when people smoked out the front, our room smelt of smoke (but we did have the windows open). However, I would have to be REALLY mean to say any of this was an issue and I would stay here again with no hesitations. Thank you very much to Ann and Dave for making our stay so good - we had a great time.

Room Tip: We had room 22 and that looked out onto the sea. It was also very quiet : )
