Just returned from an excellent stay at The Havelock the owners and staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is superb. It is perfectly located for the seafront and the old village with many restaurants.

We have just returned from a five night stay at the Havelock. A warm welcome but after that we only had contact with the proprietors when we left- fair enough- we didn't need any assistance but would have been good to be asked how we were enjoying stay, where we planned to go etc. You don't appreciate until breakfast how many people are staying there- it is very quiet and peaceful throughout. Good décor, very clean. We had a room with a sea view- lovely to wake up in the mornings and look out over the water. Breakfast cannot be faulted - efficient, excellent variety and quality of food. The bread and croissants in particular are very tasty and fresh fruit salad most welcome. The serving staff vary in their enthusiasm but again I feel a little personal interest in their guests would be appreciated.
The hotel is well positioned for getting to all points of interest and eating places in Shanklin. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Enjoy a view of the sea.

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a most enjoyable stay, this hotel is very close to all the shops and pubs and restaurants. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, I would definitely stay here again but would go for a superior room with a larger bed. We had a very nice room, (room 6) with a sea view, but it was only a double bed and as we are used to a king size at home it seemed a bit small to us, especially as it was so warm, also I think it would be nice to have a balcony room, but as we booked at the last minute we had the last room available, but I am still glad we went there. The breakfasts, served between 8-30 and 9-30 were really good, good choice as well, although we didn't have any, snacks were available as well from lunch time until 5pm.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a room with a balcony.

We took a short 3 night trip to IOW as part of a birthday celebration. I'm so glad I came across the Havelock on Trip Advisor. There really is no need to look anywhere else. The hosts and breakfast team are sooo welcoming and friendly. The hotel was beautifully clean and always smelt of fresh flowers. It's in a great location just a few mins walk to all the best places in Shanklin and Ann's restaurant recommendations were spot on. Parking wasnt an issue for us even though the B&B was busy and other peoples comments really shouldnt let this put you off- almost all the BB's have slightly congested parking. The breakfasts were great - especially the fresh breads and homemade jams, and they can definitely poach an egg properly. They're not proclaiming to be the Ritz but are a great value for money, comfy BB. Just go!

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at The Havelock. The hotel is in a great location, handy for both the seafront and the Old Village/Chine. We had a double room with sea views and also a single room for our son. Both rooms were well appointed and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was lovely, with a great choice and good alternatives to the full English if you wanted them. We will definitely be returning.

We've returned from a week's stay at this lovely b&b. Dave and Ann who run the hotel were very welcoming and the room was like a home from home. I liked that we sat at the same table for breakfast each day and the food served was lovely and plentiful. I've noticed people mentioning the car park, but we didn't have problems with this and we were advised this was how cars had to park due to shortage of space. I have no hesitation in recommending this b&b to anyone wanting to visit the island.
