rooms very basic, shower not working, no lights in corridors, when we arrived no rooms had been allocated for 60 odd people, staff couldn't speak english, luggage taken to wrong rooms, although booked for single rooms on ground floor (disabled), told no no single rooms on ground floor. Food - choice between dried up chicken or dried fish. swimming pool empty and left dirty. had to ask for clean towels after two days. two nights only for entertainment. good location with good views. how this hotel passed inspection is beyond belief SEND IN THE HOTEL INSPECTOR!

The hotel is in a good position but is let down by the lack of organisation and very very poor service and terrible food. We were unable to order from menu because serving staff were not english speaking. Evening meal took 2 hours due to poor service, we waited upr to 45mins between courses. I would not recomend this hotel..

Luckily we'd only booked to stay in this hotel for one night. There was much confusion on booking in with a woman taking a long time to allocate our rooms, granted we had arrived early but she said it would take a few minutes...we waited long enough to have a picnic in the front garden. We explored the grounds to find a swimming pool with no water & a bar which wasn't open although an advertising board was outside. The rooms were clean enough but with VERY small baths & those horrid plastic tap/shower attatchments. It was a shame we didn't try them out when we booked in as none of us had any hot water in the morning, no matter how long we left the taps running. The woman told us in the morning that we had to leave them running to empty the tank first! Who has time for that?! Breakfast was okay, but no veggie options. Most of us slept well apart from the screaming & balling from various children which began at 5am! The staff do NOT have a good command of english, or pretend they don't! If we had booked for more than a night we would have demanded our money back. My advice would definately be to look elsewhere. I would also add...bring your own soap, but as the water never gets hot, don't bother!

We have just come back from a stay at the Mayfair, what an awful place!! The pool has obviously not been used for a long time, there are piles of rubbish which can be seen through the window in the dining room. Having rejected the first room we were shown, as the lock was falling of the door and you could not swing a cat, we were shown about six other rooms and accepted one in the end because we were worn out from chasing all over the place. The room we accepted was small with the tiniest bathroom, you could wash your hands while sitting on the toilet, paper was hanging of the walls and there was fungus growing between the tiles, when using the shower you were either scalded or frozen. We were woken up late one night by the owner and his son throwing out a broken shower cubicle just below our window ( where there was already a pile of rubbish) they also turned of the electricity earlier the same night as they tried to find out which breaker they needed to remove to fit the new shower. The food was adequate but very simple.
