“Happy donkeys”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014

The Donkey Sanctuary in Wroxall, nr Ventnor, is a must for all animal lovers. Admission is free, although a donation is welcome and there is a chance to "adopt a donkey" for anyone interested. Lots of friendly volunteers to fill you in with background information about the donkeys, who seem happy and well cared for. There is a small, well run café and shop. A lovely relaxed atmosphere with an interesting history, and a chance to get close to the donkeys. An enjoyable visit. Very suitable for children.

“So good to see the donkeys being looked after so well”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2014 via mobile

Popped in on our way through the village and what a lovely place. Staff were excellent and helpful. The donkeys were extremely well cared for and although some had obviously had tough lives they looked happy and rested. Nice place to have a wonder around and they have a shop where you can buy donkey related products which all helps with supporting them. Worth a visit if you have time.

“Free place to visit.......make sure you give a donation! Good for families!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2014

The great thing about this place is 1) the work they do, 2) loads of donkeys, very cute! and 3) no admission charge! This us great for anyone on a budget with a few children because any donation then made is good but it means it is not expensive to visit. You could take a picnic and eat it there. There is a coffee shop but I think they could do more with it! If they really upgraded the tea room they would get people coming for a lovely cream tea or afternoon tea with the added bonus of donkeys but I may just being a bit commercial. I love donkeys so loved the place........last visited when I was a small child.

“Excellent work”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

Lovely way to spend a couple of hours, and for a good cause. Cute young ones, and all looked after well. Spend a few pounds in the shop. The children I saw there seemed to love the donkeys. So a good place to visit for the whole family. And doesn't have to cost much.

“Superb”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

Came across the sanctuary by accident and loved it. Free to go in and see all the donkeys of all ages that have a lovely life running around fields. Run by volunteers who work very hard to keep the donkeys well and happy.
