“One of our favorite places in GB”
Reviewed 9 July 2012

Three years ago we had to find a new B&B on the Isle of Wight for 2 people and a small dog. Luckily we had seen this place advertised as dog friendly. We called them and they had room for us for a week. Since then we have had about 15 short breaks of a week or more and always enjoyed our stays. Everone at Manser does everything to make your holiday as nice as possible. You have choices for a tasty and generous breakfast, sweets on your room and the rooms are comfortable. And our dog is very happy here as well. She can sit with us in the guestlounge in the evening. Go through the garden and you are close to the sea or the sandbeach at Steephill cove. The botanic garden is in 5 minutes walking distance. You are free to come and go as you please, which is important for us as we arrive sometimes quite late coming from Germany. We already booked our Manser holidays for next year.

I stayed recently with my family, and we had a very enjoyable time. The staff were very welcoming and friendly throughout our visit, and nothing seemed too much trouble.
We had good sized, clean rooms with all the usual facilities. There were plenty of supplies in the tea and coffee - no rationing the milk! There was also a bottle of water, and a small bowl of chocolates every day, a very nice touch.
You are given a choice of menu for breakfast, to be filled in the night before. It was an excellent breakfast, and plenty of it! A much enjoyed touch was the juke box in the dining room, filled with some rather varied music, which we listened to each day. It runs on donations to the nearby Donkey Sanctuary.
We were invited to use the Hot Tub, in the back garden, which proved very popular. I would seriously reccommend this to any visitors.
There is a fairly large garden, which leads directly to the top of the cliffs, and then down to the truly beautiful Steephill cove. It is an enjoyable and fairly easy walk to Ventnor along the cliffs, but possibly best in daylight! Access to Steephill cove is not really possible from anywhere for those with mobility problems, but if you can, it is well worth it.
We were made very welcome, despite being a fairly unusual party, with a young baby, and a dog. Even the dogs made us very welcome, especially Poppy.
I would not hesitate to reccommend this hotel to anyone, indeed my parrents have already booked a return trip!

Room Tip: The rooms are all upstairs, but there is no real road noise at all. We had all the rooms, and they w...

Stayed at the Manser last week with the family and are looking forward to returning when possible. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable, and they provided a travel cot for our little girl saving us having to get one.Lovely extras like a bottle of water by the bed, tea, coffee and biscuits, chocolates provided every day were very welcome and appreciated.
The breakfast was the best i have ever had in a b&b,with a large selection and all cooked to perfection, aswell as porridge for our baby each morning which she loved.Another welcome feature is the hot tub in the back garden,we made good use of this and it was a lovely way to relax in the evening, looking out over the garden.
A short walk to Steephill cove was well worth it and helped to work off some of the breakfast too.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be returning.

Our first stay at Manser and we have already booked our return week in the summer. Manser is small, just three guest bedrooms, and extremely friendly- a real home from home in every sense. Our bedrooms were not just clean but SPARKLING CLEAN. Shiny taps, wash basin and shower. Comfortable bed in a good size room overlooking their lovely gardens. Their three dogs also made us welcome in the garden (they do not come into the guest area) and our little dog got on well with them. We enjoyed the super hot tub and the fantastic breakfasts - what a choice- whilst choosing our music on the juke box. Jill, Sue and Peter are the absolutely perfect hosts and expecially made our 11 month old granddaughter welcome with food specially cooked for her. The back gate leads to a path down to the lovely Steephill Cove. Sensible to have a climb down there after breakfast if you want to keep the weight gain down.
As I headed this, there are insufficient superlatives for this place. Just hope not too many people book and we can't get back! Thanks for a lovely stay and we look forward to our next holiday there.

Room Tip: Al;l three rooms are lovely and all en-suite. Remember the costume for the hot tub!

We stayed here as a family, and were given two rooms, we also took the dog! They are lovely people, very welcoming, and the breakfast introduced my kids to eggs benedict (very well cooked). Their hounds were very keen on my dog, and he was chased around by them so he also had a good time. We would go back anytime.
