“Friendly B&B with lovely views.”
Reviewed 3 July 2010

The owners Mick and Nava were lovely and friendly. It is worth paying the little bit extra for a seaview because you see the whole of the bay. Located nicely in town, only a short (but steep) walk down to pubs and restaurants. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay.

We have stayed at St Andrew's every year for the past 10 years. We are always made most welcome and made to feel at home. We have no hesitation in recommending St Andrew's for any length of stay whether for business or leisure. The rooms are first class and the food excellent. The view from the hotel is magnificent.

We stayed here about 4 years ago and decided to come back hoping for better weather. And I must admit the sun decided to join us and the whole area comes to life in the warm. St Andrews is a small but well maintained hotel which is in really good condition considering it's age (1830's) with great views over the bay in ventnor and a short walk to the botanical gardens or the beach, but beware, I'm from the fens and the hills although pretty, are tough on my Norfolkised legs. Great breakfast and great chill out area in the bar overlooking the garden and sea add to the relaxed atmoshpere and looking at the web sites of other local hotels you will struggle to find anywhere locally that offers this kind of value.

We have stayed at St Andrew's so many times and have enjoyed every visit, finding our time there relaxing, comfortable and very pleasant. St Andrew's enjoys a wonderful elevated position overlooking the bay of Ventnor, with quite a few rooms with sea view. All the rooms have bath or shower etc. It has its own south facing garden where you can sit and admire the view and find many interesting plants. St Andrew's is within easy walking distance of Ventnor town. There are lovely cliff and seaside walks which are easily accessible. St Andrew's is well positioned for visiting many places of beauty and interest on the island. The owners: Mick and Nava Young are very friendly and eager to please, giving many helpful ideas of places to visit etc. They are relaxing and fun to be with, as are their mum and daughter. They cook a very good breakfast too. You will soon feel at home there.
