This is the 6th year in succession that my wife and I have visited the Island and this is the 3rd hotel we have stayed at, all in the same price bracket, and this is the best by far. Yes the hotel did need some refurbishment, but this is obviously work in progress; it was scrupulously clean. From the warm welcome we received from the owner, John, the service and attention, the selection and quality of food for both breakfast and the 3 course dinner was faultless. We stayed in the twin bedded room that had a fantastic sea view over the extensive grounds, the room was not big, but adequate, and the storage, the en-suite bathroom with corner bath and shower had ample space.
We will return to the Island again next year and definitely book Ventnor Towers

Not sure why people feel the need to be hypercritical , yes it's a bit tired looking but they are trying to update it bit by bit,but what wonderful people . The kids fell in love with wurzal the chocolate Labrador who was adored by all and the team are very welcoming. The pool was great and the food was excellent, we are discerning people who have lived all over and we decided to eat there both nights as we enjoyed it is much. June is one of the friendliest waitresses and even remembered the name of my daughters teddy' and nothing was too much trouble,we will definitely be going back and hope that people keep supporting this great team who are just trying to make a living in these difficult times, 10 out of 10 from us

Room Tip: Sorry no spa or fitness place

Have spent many a holiday on the IOW from camping to renting, with young, now teenage children. Most hotels dont do family (5) rooms only (4) but came across The Ventnor Towers that have a number of family rooms for 5. Spent one week half board at a cost of £30 pppn during the summer holidays. Breakfasts were substantial and evening meals very good and hot with an excellant choice. The hotel staff were extremely pleasant and friendly. The hotel is extremely clean and the windows gleaming. There has been a hotel on the site since 1932, so it is a little dated but the rooms were well kept and a good size. They are cleaned and beds made daily with a new set of towels, every other day. There is a very comfortable lounge with Sky TV even though each room has its own TV. Wifi is free. Outside the hotel has large grounds and beautiful sea views with a warm outdoor pool, towels provided at NEC.

So if you fancy letting someone else do the cooking for a change and have a budget, this hotel is worth every penny.

Room Tip: Room 15, great seaview.

We received a very pleasant welcome and felt at ease immediately. All the staff were helpful and kind. The hotel is very spacious, comfortable and clean, and our room was a good size, light and airy with a lovely view of the sea. It has lost its grandeur and is somewhat worn and faded (a bit like us) but that is all part of its charm and somehow in keeping with the Isle of Wight. What we liked was the the relaxed and easy-going atmosphere - a bit like staying in a very large family home. It is very child friendly with a fantastic garden to keep them happy much of the time as well as a swimming pool, tennis court, pitch & putt and more (although the cliffside location does mean younger children would need fairly close supervision). The location offers scenic walks and Ventnor with its beach and shops is a short (15mins) walk away. We really enjoyed our evening meals in the restaurant with views across the sea and the service was excellent. I have coeliac disease and was impressed how well my dietary needs were catered for. I was reassured at the beginning of each meal time - making me confident to eat without worrying. It is a huge plus to know your dietary needs are being taken seriously. We had our grandson with us and he had a brilliant time and was very sad to leave. He loved his meals and the facilities on tap were definite winners for an active eleven year old. The hotel and its surroundings have a lot to offer and you could easily stay 4 or 5 days without feeling the need to venture out in the car. We left feeling rested, nourished and content. Thank you Ventnor Towers Hotel.

This place clearly need to get their act together. Either they are not popular enough to be able to deal with a full house or just cant be bothered. I dont really know where to start. There was nothing welcoming about this place starting from the staff who looked like they were over-worked, to the decor, to the food to basic amenities. When my husband booked the hotel over the phone, we were forced to pay for a baby cot which we did not need or ask for as our baby sleeps in our bed. May I add that the travel cot did not even have a mattress. Our double bed was made by joining up two separate beds, so the dip in the mattress is responsible for the bad back that I seem to have acquired. The bathroom reminded me of one of our old cheap rented flat in our past life, with chipped WC (that did not flush very well) and bath-tub and taps and shower pipes losing their covers and old lino flooring. The water flow was erratic, my friend had to wash with boiling water and my mum with cold water. The reason apparently was because all the guests were trying to have a wash at the same time (they obviously never had this situation before!!). The breakfast on day one was fine (atleast it was on time...we were served wrong order though), but on day two we waited a whole hour till our appetites went cold as did the toast. The staff serving the breakfast did not have the basic courtesy to apologize for this. There was no internet connectivity except in the lounge; nor was there basic mobile phone connectivity...surely a signal booster is affordable. All in all very disappointing for the money we had paid; I have stayed in better and more welcoming places at much cheaper rates. Well, clearly they need to employ more staff to run this place...I feel sorry for the woman who was trying her best to be efficient as she seemed to be doing just about everything around the place. It was no fun at all for our family and friends who had high hopes for a relaxing break in Isle of Wight.

After having our booking at an Hotel in Shanklin cancelled at the last minute, I was extremely lucky to find Ventnor Towers. On arrival, my wife, grandchildren and I were made most welcome and shown our family room which was clean, spacious and had most beautiful views over the extensive gardens and the sea. The food was extremely good and the staff were most attentive and friendly. Our host, John, was very friendly and I cannot fault anything at all about Ventnor Towers Hotels. I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks John and your staff for making our stay such a memorable one.

Room Tip: For a family of four room 3 was ideal.

Hotel looked a bit tatty when we arrived but that was misleading. OK, it is aging a bit but we had a family room - 1 double, 1 single and bunks. Plenty of room, nice shower, boiling hot water. Very good facilities, pool, tennis etc, breakfast was lovely so all told, a very nice hotel in an ideal location. One thing to note - mobile phone reception was virtually nil !!
