A well-equipped, modern apartment only a few minutes walk from town centre. Glorious sea view and close enough to enjoy the sound of the waves breaking on the shore! Balcony with chairs and table, sheltered from the West means you can enjoy an open air breakfast in the sunshine but this is shaded later in the day. Even a pair of binoculars thoughtfully provided so you can watch the giant cruise ships travelling in and out of the Solent. We had no car so found the proximity to the town centre with bus services and shops perfect for our needs. Ventnor is looking a bit run down these days but retains a peaceful, old world charm that we found attractive. The apartment is only a couple of minutes walk to the coastal path from which the charming Steephill Cove with excellent beachside cafe and Ventnor Botanic garden with its subtropical microclimate are a short walk.
Comments made by previous contributor concerning space in the master bedroom and minor problems with the shower still apply.
My partner and I stayed at Beach Home Ventnor for one week along with her sister & partner. The apartment was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped, the lounge/diner has a sliding door onto the balcony where you get an almost 180 degree view of the sea and was the apartments best asset, overlooking Ventnor beach to the left. The master bedroom has a lovely sea view and a comfy bed but this is rather too large for the room. You will have to squeeze between the foot of the bed and the wall to get to the far side, but for me that was not a great issue. The second bedroom was possibly a little larger than the master, due in part to the smaller double bed frame. This room also has a good sea view. There is a small toilet next to the master bedroom, and also a family bathroom. The shower takes a bit of effort to operate in so far as the hot water doesn't always come out so if that happens just have a bath! On the subject of hot water; you may need to give the water a boost in the morning as it wasn't hot enough to wash with. Parking was to the rear of the property, private and very close. Several metal steps lead down to the entrance door from the car parking area. Martin the owner was quick to respond to all my queries and was very helpful throughout. Overall a very pleasant stay and would like to return in the future. Ventnor is a good size town with many eateries and several places to drink. The obvious 'must go to' pub is the Spyglass Inn which is a two minute walk from this property. Always very busy but the food and Ale is good. The Red Chilli Indian Restaurant in town is FAB too.!
